Liberals constantly talk about how evil and greedy people that have a lot of money are, so is it better to not be wealthy in the eyes of libs? To a liberal, is a person a better American if they don't work hard, get on welfare, and have 7 kids with 5 different people before they are 19? I'm curious because libs never complain about those people, but constantly complain about people that do the right thing, like stay out of jail, take care of their children financially, get a job, go to college, start their own business, work hard to buy a home and support their families. Apparently, these people represent everything that is wrong and evil in American society because they own a home and possibly *gasp* an suv. They are independent (selfish in liberal jargon) and work hard to provide for themselves without relying on the gov't. Apparently libs think we need more Americans that pace around the mailbox the first of the month nervously waiting for their welfare check to arrive.

To Henry:

People always get that quote wrong. It goes like this:

For the love of money is the root of all evil.

The first few words are the most important. Money itself is not the root of evil, the love of it is. Of course greed is wrong, hence the quote (it's from the Bible). But theft is wrong as well, which is what happens when the government takes money from someone to give it to someone else. If that person wants to give his money to someone that he thinks deserves it, then good for him. If another person chooses to keep that money, that is his right, and sooner or later there will be consequences for it (karma, judgement, etc). It's is this difference in philosophies that leads to a difference in behavior between wealthly conservatives and wealthy liberals--conservatives are more likely to give to charity than liberals.

Being wealthy in America can be good or it can be bad, depending on who you are. Bill Gates is weathy and is liberal. He gives away a lot of his money. Therefore, he is loved by liberals. Oprah is wealthy and is a very touchy-feely person, and is therefore loved by liberals. Most movie stars are weathy and are loved by liberals as long as they openly criticise conservatives. Liberals do feel that being wealthy is a crime if the wealthy person wants to keep most of their own money, thereby causing pain to someone who doesn't have any money. The purpose in a liberal government is to get as much of that money as possible and give it to those who for whatever reason are not successful, unless, of course, the unsuccessful person is conservative, or a Christian. It also depends on where your money comes from. If you got rich from oil or owning a gun company you are evil. If you got rich from taking money from poor people with uninteresting lives, in the form of theater tickets so that they can fantasize about being successful, or good looking, or interesting, then you are a wonderful person who's political views are extremely important. If, heaven forbid (oh, I forgot, liberals don't like the idea of heaven), you became wealthy in the defense industry you are an evil monster responsible for killing innocent babies in foreign countries. If you are a wealthy abortion doctor who got rich killing babies in America, you are a wonderful defender of a woman's right to choose. If you became wealthy as a university professor with a liberal agenda, you are a well respected educator. If you are the president of a Christian University that teaches traditional, conservative values, you are a narrow minded bigot, catering to the children of bible-thumping, ignorant rednecks.

They say things like that because they know that most people who vote for them are under-educated, under-informed, under-achieving, and overly enraged by the thought of any one with a little money. Therefore, they do and say those things to inflame their base, to get out the vote. It works because their base is primarily the poor. Interesting, but when the campaign is going on, the wealthy are those with millions in the bank. However, once liberals are elected and its time to talk about raising taxes, we find that we are all wealthy

I know.. supposedly it is. Just because people work hard and do the smart things and life it is like a crime. Its like "oh why can't they just be on welfare" And do they know that that in this country there are so many opportunities, but they seek to say that things are "unfair" and even call people racist, and still live off of our tax dollar.

It's not the money that gets people so upset,it's the way it was stolen from the U.S.Teasury, in the guise of a war on a 'feeling' or 'tactic' ![terror] What this admin. has done is the HIGHEST CRIME that could ever be committed against our CONSTITUTION !

USA’s COUNTRY'S PERMANENT POOR
http://www.zmag.org/sustainers/content/2001-04/03bagdikian.htm

It can be the best of times or the worst of times, but whether in prosperity or recession, there is one constant in the United States economy--the richest country in the world has maintained a permanent class of Americans who are poor. That is not an accident. It is maintained by official action as deliberate as Alan Greenspan's protection of the prosperity of banks and stock markets. In this case it is the scandalous maintenance by new laws and regulations, new tax codes, and special multi-billion tax waivers for favored giant corporations. Those in this permanent class are not the momentarily unemployed. Most of them shift jobs. Or alcoholics, addicts, and the handicapped. Most of them work. Neither are they inevitable as temporarily unlucky in a world of global economic change. Long before the "new economy" and after it, none of our Western European peers of affluent nations has sustained a permanent class of the poor like one in the U.S. Those other countries have social policies that prevent it.

It sure seems that way. Working and taking care of yourself and family is a crime and a very selfish way of looking at life.

Share the wealth!

They are hypocrites. 90% of the Hollywood Elite would sell this country to the enemy, yet they forget that it is this great nation that put them where they are. Liberals do want more people on welfare. Welfare increases dependancy on Government, which allows them to increase their voter base because Conservatives are anti-welfare.
