It's a tough call. They both have good intentions in a way, but it couldn't be more obvious that neither would stop the problem they try to fix. Is there anyone reading this who CAN'T jump a fence?

I don't think whether or not someone able to read this can jump a fence is relevant in this case. Most crossing the southern border can't read this. It's a deterrent if nothing else. It sends a message to those who want to break the laws of our country. I think machine gun nests would be better, but that's just me. If we would enforce the laws on the books now we wouldn't need a fence, or machine gun nests, but enforcing the laws is not PC enough for this congress.

Don't forget that prohibition worked for the most part, but the nation decided they didn't want it later.
What people are proposing is a double fence with a road inbetween, the road would have motion senses to alert boarder patrol and by the time they have scaled the other fence they are caught.

Neither. Prohibition failed because of lobbyists. Actually the statistics showed that alcohol related deaths were much lower during prohibition. It is just a great myth that it failed. Check it out.
The fence can't work because the government hasn't built it yet. Our legislators are throwing in the towel without even trying. Who benefits from this negligence? Not US citizens.

Your being a little naieve here. The fence is not going to be a chain link fence about 4 feet high in your back yard. Its is going to be about 20 feet high, with razor wire on top. Same type of fence used in prisons. How many prisoners jump that type of fence? Not many.
So your question is silly to begin with.

How about this, no jobs and no tax payer funded services for illegal immigrants?
And no more automatic citizenship for anyone born in this country unless the parents are legal citizens !

Much of that fence is to prevent transport trucks of of people and of coruse trucks filled with drugs.
You might be able to climb over it but you cant drive through it at least.

Amnesty. Already shown to not work, now they want to try again. Then with 12,000,000 more hispanic voters we can expect a 50,000,000 amnesty in a few years, then aztlan wins and they own the country.
