Recently, the burglar alarm went off in the Tip O'Neill federal building in Boston, but the Security detail in Boston was closed on the weekend, so it "rang" in Philadelphia. The agent in Philly reached the "on call" agent in New Hampshire, who drove down to check out the incident. It took "Homeland Security" NINETY MINUTES to respond to an ALARM in a HIGH PRIORITY FEDERAL BUILDING. Apparently the local Boston police were NOT CONTACTED. Homeland Security? Timothy McVeigh did not need NEARLY that much time. Islamist surely wouldn't.

i think democracy is overrated much like the ny yankees. hitler came to power by democracy and in established democratic states the whole process is a bunch of wack figureheads who are bought and sold by the capitalistic enterprise. whats worse are there are masses of dumb asses who eat up the senseless banter from politicians.

one other thing to consider is that iraq and the middle east in general may not have the same beliefs as us in alot of things including democracy. while having a few wives may be appealing to me, muslims do not like drinking old 40z's and hooking up with bar ho'z. no one is right or wrong just let it be and let these sand g's sort it out because we have more than enough to worry about at home.

Ever notice in the latest James Bond Movies, there was no middle-eastern bad guy? When the Cold War was going on, they had no qualms as showing the Russians as evil, yet now with the rise of Islamic terrorism, the last bad guy was an African dude, and a French dude. Shouldn't James Bond movies reflect the bad guys in real life? Why don't they do it now?

I'm turning 18 in four months, i had dropped out of school to get my GED at 15 because of my social anxiety disorder. When i'm 18 i plan to move to Texas where my boyfriend is currently living. Before that, i would like to visit Texas to see if i'll really like living there. My father agrees to this and is with me 100%.

But my mother is threatening to call the police if we do this before i'm 18. My mom has bad separation anxiety and i usually cant go anywhere which is the cause of my social anxiety disorder. By the time my mom finishes interrogating my friends, they give up on me and stop talking to me which is another reason why i dont have any friends. She tries her best to get rid of them so that i'm not in "danger". I'm glad my boyfriend has stuck with me, hes been through hell with my mother already.

Legally, can a police officer stop me from taking a trip to Texas for 10 days? Or rather, if i'm already there could the police in Texas bring me back/arrest me?

Obviously that is more along the lines of what they are trying to accomplish...

Goodling testified that Gonzales' Deputy AG, Paul McNulty, perjured himself, lying to the committee in earlier testimony. The lie: McNulty denied Monica had told him about Tim Griffin's "involvement in 'caging' voters" in 2004.

not talking about junior/community/career/colleges only accredited college grads/student. I have mad respect for out troops but everything that has gone on since WWII is about money. iraq is helping the military industry profit and for no good reason.

I'm in a transitional phase of my life, where i'm still in college, trying to figure out what I TRULY believe. What kinds of sources have you all used to find TRUTHS, and arrive at a particular political stand. I read one thing, and I want to lean liberal, I read another, and I want to lean conservative. I feel like I can be swayed easily one way or another by those who know more than me/can argue their points better. I feel like I have no "stronghold" of facts which make me INARGUABLY one or the other. What kinds of things should I be doing, and reading, to get unbiased, factual information from which to base a belief? I know..winded question..your thoughts??

Here's one for you braindead hypocrite lefty morons..."In 1993, shortly after she was installed as attorney general, Janet Reno sent an unmistakable signal that her Justice Department would primarily serve the political ends of Bill Clinton rather than the ends of justice. At once, she fired all 93 of the country's United States attorneys. According to no less an authority than Ted Olson, President George Bush's chief post-election attorney, Reno's move was extreme and unprecedented. "In order to maintain continuity in thousands of pending prosecutions, and as a statement to the public that elections do not influence routine law enforcement, the nation's top prosecutors are traditionally replaced only after their successors have been located, appointed, and confirmed by the Senate. On instructions from the White House (she claimed it was a 'joint' decision; no one believes that), Reno ordered all 93 to leave in ten days.

Have a universal public service from age 18 or on completion of High School for 3 years, one would have a choice, public service jobs, which job corps could then contract and replace fruit pickers and other migrant workers for the cheap wages, public serive employement such as candy striper or nurses aide type work at public and VA hospitals, the military, and other jobs such as picking up trash along the highways , raking leaves, meals on wheels, even the disabled could do something. At the end of their service, those who chose non military could then recieve educational grants such as the no longer existant pell grant for trade or educational goals, the military would recive the GI bill. Those who also apply for welfare wopuld be required to join this work force and earn their checks as well

What do you think, at least then we could pres 1 for English!
