Hey Pancho, just because you threw out the Spanish which was a European power, this doesn't give you the right to claim what they claimed. You got a right to the Aztex empire and that's it, the rest was European business. At best in North America the Spanish threw up Catholic Missions with 2 priests and a few local indians. This isn't enough especially after the missions have long been abadoned to claim as Mexico, especially when were no Mexicans even living there.

Why do you think Mexicans have any rights to Texas?
Fact: The Mexicans who were in Texas stayed in Texas, becoming citizens of the Republic of Texas, and later, the U.S.A. They weren't driven out. Many fought for Texas' independence! The Republic of Texas' FIRST VICE PRESIDENT was a MEXICAN, LORENZO DE ZAVALA [ Manuel Lorenzo Justiniano de Zavala y Sáenz (1788-1836)]! This man ALSO helped to write the CONSTITUTION for the new Republic of Texas!! THAT's how accepted the Mexican Texans were/are. The man had been an official in the Mexican government, got imprisoned for his democratic ideals for 3 years, moved to Texas when General Santa Anna came to power and later gave his support to the Texas drive for independence.
Fact: Since the Mexicans stayed here as Texas citizens, any OTHER Mexican has ZERO claim on this land.
Fact: Since Santa Anna, the legal representative of the Mexican government, signed a treaty on the matter, The Republic of Texas was LEGALLY, FREELY GIVEN the right to the land. He lost, and signed over title, after having butchered many Texans, even in random bean-drawings to decide who lived or died. Didn't Even Mexico rebel against Spain?? Should, then, Spain reclaim all of Mexico? Texas was given its freedom. If Santa Anna had said, " No, you may kill me, but I'll not give you my people's land," then that may have been a different story. As it is, are you saying that a Mexican's word is of no value? That would be a horrible statement on the part of a Mexican, I might think. Right?

If anyone have claim to that land it would be native americans, but as the saying goes "to the winner goes the spoils."

Mexico had very little influence in those areas, it is only because of spanish colonization that there was any other claim to that territory.

There is nothing wrong with having pride in your nationality, but you are just being ignornant for what I'm going to assume is a justification for illegal immigration.

Lets face it, whether you a a democrat, republican or indepedent. The ammount of immgration is out of control and these immigrants who are largely entering the country illegally are putting a burden on everyone else. Sure you can argue about their support to the work force and thus lowering costs and etc, but putting that aside, they put a burden on the state.

Why do you keep asking the same stupid question? Texas & California are states, each was actually independent before joining the USA. Who may have been a citizen of what state, and who might have 'owned' what land 150 years ago simply doesn't matter. What matters is where the borders legally are /now/.

Good grief, if you really believe that, you should report it to the federales. I'm shaking in my "Tejas" boots!

PS: "Texas," "California," and Mexicans" always should be capitalized. But, if you had a clue you would have known.

The spanish killed the population of mexico and central america for the gold. When they had all they could carry home, they proceed to inseminate the remaining women and force their language and corrupt politics and caste system life style on the population. By the way the spaniards who did this were descendants of the ottomans (arabs) that occupied Spain for hundreds of years. and mohammed created muslim religion. Now the same people who trashed mexico are infiltrating US and trying to force us to speak spanish, to lying and corrupt lifestyle on us. .Some of the mexicans who escaped to us are ok. some are not. how do I tell the difference? We didn't steal texas, we rescued it from the corrupt spanish after they raped it and there was nothing left.

We took it from you 150 years ago. It's not yours anymore. Sorry, if you don't like that, there is nothing we can really do for you.

But if it makes you feel better, compare the US economy to the Mexican economy. We have made much better use out of the land then Mexico would have.
