Just when you think you have heard it all, along comes a story that is almost too ridiculous to be true. But it is. The idiocy of federal bureaucracies apparently is never-ending. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), which might easily be called the Department of Political Correctness, has decided to take on the Salvation Army. Yes, the Salvation Army, that phenomenally successful assistance organization which began in Great Britain over one hundred and forty-years ago. The Salvation Army, which has helped thousands of people in countries all over the world, is being sued by the EEOC.

Are 911 calls kept on record and if so for how long? I called today and they asked for my last name, first name and then my date of birth - I mean it was for an embarrasing situation and the cop showed up at my place but only for 5 second but I just want to know if they keep that kind of thing on record - I mean if I get pulled over and go to jail, can they search my record to see that i made a 911 call or something like that...

basically i am looking to transition to a career in law enforcement and specifically into the SWAT/sniping aspect of it. as far as my experience, i have served in both the Marines and the Army, which im currently still in as an infantry scout sniper team leader. After this next deployment i will be leaving active duty with 2 combat tours as well as having completed the US Army Sniper School and US Army Ranger School with a combined time of 8 1/2 years of active duty time. What I would like to do is go to a large city police department, such as LAPD, Miami-Dade PD,( I'm sure there are plenty more those are the two that came to mind) and become a police officer. After completing my minimum requirements as a new officer i would like to get a chance at a SWAT position particularly as a sniper due to my military background. Basically i'm wondering if thats a reasonable goal. I understand that some departments have a long line of people looking to go into the SWAT profession and was wondering if perhaps my previous background would help be get in the door a little quicker after doing my time on the beat as an officer on the street. Any perspective at all on my situation would be a big help. thanks for your time...

I don't support everything he says and does, that would be impossible, or just blind alliance, and that ain't me .
But I do understand where he's coming from . He has a very firm belief that what we're doing over in Iraq is imperative to all our safety . And ya gotta give him credit that he's been willing to give up his own personal popularity , in exchange for what he believes is Right !!
Think about that . Who else is willing to allow so many others to hate him , when a change or two would bring more popularity ? Our politicians change their political stances almost weekly to gain more support , rather than sticking to what they really believe in, if anything .
And who among you is God ? Who among you know for sure that we won't be attacked on our own soil, possibly devastatingly and regularly, if we don't continue to keep them bogged-down fighting us elsewhere ?
Some of you think new leadership will favor your opinions , but it won't all the time .
And what will you say then ?

I thought Gore was a far superior alternative to Bush, who, had little in political experience to allow him to be decent President. Though from different camps, does Obama really have the knowledge to become a good President?

My mother-in-law, has been told by her Dr. that she cannot stay alone, at that time, we thought her children were going to take turns each week. That hasn't happened. It's landed in my husband and I's home. Which I don't mind, It is a big change. We have to drive 30 miles one way to take care of her home & yard. She only has medicare, had a visit to the hospital, now has a hudge bill to pay. She don't have medicaid, due to being afraid of what they may do. Older people get afraid of everything. So I need to get her signed up but don't know how to go about it. Please help me. She has a home, if she goes to a nursing home, will they take that. Even after she passes.? Can anyone answer my question. In the KY> law.

I don't think so. Bigger budget deficits, out of control federal spending in DC after 6 years of Republican control, more bloated government agencies, but A LOT of lip service to smaller government, fiscal responsibility, blah, blah, blah...

The U.S. Congress is considering limitations on military funding to shape the course of war in the Middle East.

The President considers this improper since it blocks his ability as the Commander in Chief.

Is this new in American history? Are there other examples -- including non-military -- where Congress has limited the Executive's Office to execute work as they see it?

Are there any Supreme Court Decisions concerning this problem?

Many countries have absolute prohibition of guns and they do not have a problem.

USA should prohibit all kinds of guns from the society. It may take two or three years to completely track and remove all legal and illegal guns. And initially there may be a situation where good people do not have guns but bad people have. But it’s worth taking that risk.

When there will be no guns in the neighborhoods, no gun shops and not gun import or smuggling then there is no reason for me to have a legal gun.

It’s the business of government and police to protect people. It’s a really a bad idea to sell legal guns to people and ask them to protect themselves. Because it’s impossible to differentiate good from bad, defense from attack, mentally stable from mentally sick.

A person may be stable and good today, he can have wrong intentions an year after.
