Wouldn't be surprised. Funny how the majority of conservatives who post here on yahoo, newspapers, talk on tv shows have ever actually served in Iraq or even considered doing it.
If they want to go fight the good fight that they are always ranting about then they should pack up their bags and high tail it out of here leaving their families behind and stop being the worlds biggest contradiction by sitting in their air conditioned house on the computer telling everyone who is against the war that they are unpatriotic.

I wouldn't say Bush cut and ran, as he served in the ANG. However, the ANG was not deployed while he was in. He is the first president since WWII to deploy the guard and reserves in such a haphazard manner. I don't know about Cheney or Gonzalez, but John McCain was a POW in Vietnam and John Kerry was in the Navy. Sam Nunn was a highly decorated veteran who lost some limbs. There are examples of those who served and those who ran on both sides of the house, I don't think it's very fair to just say conservatives. After all, Clinton was a draft dodger and by getting into the ANG, you could almost say Bush was as well. Those who serve do so proudly and with love of their country in their heart, those who run are cowards and are only looking after themselves, and this is how I view most politicians anyway.

Bush served honorably in the Texas Air National Guard. No. his guard unit never made it to Vietnam as the war was winding down and Nixon was pulling troops out of Nam. Cheney got his 5 deferments - first four were college deferments - the fifth deferment was because he was married with a pregnant wife. Deferments are the legal way of not serving, unlike the illegal way of running to Canada or England. Gonzales graduated from the Air Force Academy and spent 2 years in the Air Force (1973-75).

I guess you can throw Clinton in there as well. Many liberals cut and run from the military, many to Canada to avoid the draft. Sound familiar? Why don't liberals stick to the issues, like our boarders, Iraq, terrorism instead of trying to blame conservatives and republicans for everything. Perhaps if people actually started talking we might actually get something done!!!!!

Bush was in the National Guard. That's more than Clinton did. Bush was in long enough to learn leadership and stand accountable for his actions / decisions. Clinton (both of them) change their minds every time the media prints something different. Dem's criticize Bush for standing his ground. Clinton's don't know what ground to stand on until the polls tell them. Then they'll lie to cover anything that doesn't follow what the polls want to hear.

No it is not. There has only been one President who refused to serve and that is Clinton. Sorry. The "desertion" hoax by Dan rather was proved false.
Canadian== I have served in Iraq. I have fought the Republican Guard. SO you can kiss my derriere. Most military personnel are conservative. Conservatives are the only ones who serve. IN all the time I was in the military I never met a liberal.

Nope. And just in case you had forgotten, Dan Rather got fired for making these same allegations, based on phony "documentary proof" he cobbled up.
Stop trolling, you loser.

Yes, Cheney got REAL creative.
Bush failed his drug test and his father helped him cover it up...Cocaine. I know several people who saw him do lines first hand back in the day.
I actually met the slimy bastard when he was Geroge Bush Jr. and his father was running for Prez.

not so much cut and run, but used their families affluence to basically shirk their duties and avoid real deployment. Such behavoir committed by anyone else of course would be dealt with strict disciplinary measures, but hey, its Bush, why make him or any of his cronies abide by the same rules as we
