If more comes out from the "missing" emails that there was more involvement or another person surfaces and shows that Gonzales lied again, he will have to go.
I believe he should resign. You cannot have the TOP law enforcement officer in the country continue in a position that should have been above reproach with a stench hovering around him.
Anything that comes out of the Justice Department will be looked at with a jaundiced eye. No one told him to say he did not recall or recollect things he was in charge of. He was not truthful when he was under oath in Jan which is what started this whole thing and he did not clarify or clear up the "untruths from his last visit"

I really think he needs to go. He is single-handedly dragging down morale at the Justice Department with his incompetent stewardship. Asking and answering questions is a skill-set any competent attorney should have mastered. Gonzales is (allegedly) the TOP attorney in the country (why else would he be appointed attorney gnereal?....oh, right. Cronyism!). And yet, Alberto seemed incapable of fielding even the most basic questions without embarrassing himself, the Justice Department and the administration. It's time for him to step down.

I think he is the scapegaot as usual in these games in Washington, someone is always the scapegoat. He said the fired attorneys served at the president's pleasure, so what more proof do we need for their dismissal? Apparently the president wasn't getting any pleasure out fo their service, so they had to go. I don't think he should resign. If he resigns, so should everyone else up there.

He should resign. Anyone who has no memory does not need to be in a job that requires cognitive thought process.
I worry that he may have Alzheimer's. He needs evaluation to be sure he is mentally fit for the job if he does not resign.

He resigned because he had to. It's not like he was going to stick around and wait to be indited (sp?) for something. They'll just pick some other ******** to replace him.

He is doomed. Bush just gave " heckuva job" Fredo the kiss of death with his repeated declarations of support.
I hear Orin Hatch is being considered as a replacement. !
