Serious Question. If the Democrats ands Libs that are in office now, held their positions during WWII, would America had kept on fighting? Somehow I doubt it. After Pearl Harbor, they would have been all rallied up and then after a battle like D-day, where thousands of people died in a day, they would have decided to pull the troops and Europe would be controlled by Hitler. It sure does make you wonder.

Her's an email I've just received:

Dear friend,
My name is John Land. I'm proud to serve as the Democratic Leader in the State Senate of South Carolina. I want to talk to you about how, you, I and John Edwards are going to revitalize rural America and change the political map.

You know how it goes: every year, Republicans pump in millions of dollars to push hot-button issues to frighten and divide rural voters, while the real problems we face go totally unaddressed. And those problems are only getting worse—jobs fleeing overseas, thriving communities reduced to ghost towns, and local farmers finding it harder and harder just to make ends meet.

I support John Edwards because he's the first national candidate in years who really takes rural America seriously—and he's got a solid, bold plan to help turn things around. I know John speaks from the heart about the issues that affect my community—because this is his community too. He grew up here, and people in places like South Carolina will listen to someone who actually understands what life here is all about.

So what can we do to change the map? We can help John's campaign spread the word. I know that when rural voters learn about who John is and what he would actually do, even the reddest counties will start to turn blue. That's why I just donated $100 bucks to help fund John's outreach to rural voters. Now, I'm asking you to join me by chipping in whatever you can afford at:

www.johnedwards.com/changethemap

Last week John launched his national rural outreach effort right here in SC. He was greeted by overflow crowds in small rural diners, many of whom drove great distances to finally have a conversation with a national leader who is ready to fight for the rural way of life.

You can read John's full plan on the website, but here's the highlights of what the plan would do:
· Restore economic fairness to rural America by helping small businesses thrive and grow.
· Create a new energy economy in rural America by establishing the New Energy Economy Fund to jumpstart renewable energies.
· Create fairness for family farmers by supporting strong antitrust enforcement, capping farm subsidies for corporate farms and other reforms.
· Strengthen rural schools by improving pay for teachers in rural and other hard-to-staff schools.
· Improve health care in rural America by rewriting the unfair Medicare and Medicaid funding formulas, covering the 9 million uninsured rural Americans and establishing a nationwide network of public clinics and hospitals.
· Rid rural America of methamphetamines by improving enforcement, restricting key ingredients and expanding programs that successfully treat addicts.
We've seen too many elections where Republicans dominate rural states only to let rural people down. In John Edwards, we have a candidate and a plan that will finally end that cycle and change politics in America forever—but only if we all help out.

Like I said, I just kicked in $100 to help John's campaign get their message to rural voters, and I really hope you'll join me. Please pitch in what you can today, at:

Thanks for standing with rural America, and thanks for changing the map.

Sincerely,

--John Land

P.S. If you chip in $50 or more, you'll receive a free advance copy of the not-yet-released CD "Moneyland". "Moneyland" tells the story of the plight of rural America, through a collection of recordings, both old and new, from legendary country and bluegrass recording artists, including: The Del McCoury Band, Merle Haggard, Welch, Marty Stuart, Emmylou Harris, Bruce Hornsby & the Fairfield Four, Mac Wiseman, Patty Loveless, and more.

You can hear clips of some of the songs from "Moneyland" here: www.johnedwards.com/changethemap

I mean by so many right wing conservatives here on Yahoo's logic. Shouldn't we be killing anyone in the U.S. who is liberal, why go to Iraq when you really feel the real enemy is here?

We should fly our flags 1/2 mast when a solider dies. They are heroes defending our Country and its freedoms.

What do you think?

""Wilt suggested that flags should fly at half-staff on the base where the fallen service member was working and in the states where they hail from. He said some states do this, but not all of them.""

any neighboring country that harbors & supports your enemy? Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia & Pakistan all support &/or harbor terrorists & the US military does next to nothing to try & get them.

Unless Bush decides to start invading a lot of other Muslim countries that are bordering Iraq/Afgahistan the US military will NEVER be able to win the war in Iraq or Afganhistan. Is it a smart move to let US troops fight a war that they can never win?

Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that credit cards charge up to 21% interest on all the purchases? It makes it so much harder to pay all of the bills. Who here thinks that there should be no higher than 9.99% interest rates?

When I used to work for a chartable organization I have seen many people being hurt by the credit card companies and have seen them lose everything, I think that credit card abuse needs to end soon.

Do you agree?

If you agree what do you think needs to be done?

Is Reid a hero or a fool for saying it , right out loud that Bush has lied to this country.

Personally, I think he is very brave and an American hero... he is at least not afraid to say what many, many think. The emporer is naked.. lets all take a good look at our president... yes.. he did lie to us.. and is still lying.

people (Iraq), in the middle of a civil war & they don't wear name tags indicating they are Al Qaeda?

(Hint: The US military couldn't get all the Al Qaeda terrorists in Iraq if they had 500,000 troops there. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack).

So since the US military will never be able to get Al Qaeda out of Iraq what's the point of having the US military in Iraq? Why not let the Iraqi Shiites & Kurds wipe them out for the US? Especially since they actually know who the terrorists are in Iraq & they hate Al Qaeda as much as the US does.
