His own teacher:
"His former Roman Catholic and Muslim teachers, along with two people who were identified by Obama's grade-school teacher as childhood friends, say Obama was registered by his family as a Muslim at both of the schools he attended.
That registration meant that during the third and fourth grades, Obama learned about Islam for two hours each week in religion class.

Yes, it will hurt him. And some people are so glib as to say it does not matter. I feel it is of utmost importance given the militant Muslims who are bent on destroying the free world.

It will all come down to the spin. If he is wise he will play it down, but there are a large majority of black muslims across the country that I think would vote for him. But I am only guessing here, election politics isn't my forte.
He is really not emphasizing his muslim leanings to the mainstream media. It would be nice to know of any modern connections he has to muslims now though. When you are 10, you hardly have any say as to what you learn, correct?

Your are a Liar.
He only spent a "few years" there, which can hardly account for half his childhood. In case you have been living under a rock, the "madrassa" smear has been refuted and is only rehashed by those who have nothing more constructive to debate.
Indonesia does have a large Muslim population, but as I live in a predominately RED state, and have lived here for 10 years, you can hardly claim that I am a conservative just because of where I live.
Your fear of Obama is apparent because you know he has more standing than any Republican candidate (hence the smear campaign). Do you not have anything more constructive to comment on? Is that the best you have?

If he was designated as a Muslim on school records it was because in Islam, a child is supposed to follow the religion of his father. His father and step father were nominally Muslims. t Obama, however, is a practicing Christian who attends church frequently..
I think it's important that a President know something about Islam and this his experiences in Indonesia are a plus.
The LA Times is no longer a liberal paper, at most, it is middle of the road.

Yes they will .
Now on to a more important issue . You don't allow email so I had no other choice . You may find this quite enlightening . During the Cuban Missile Crisis, yes we agreed to remove our missiles in Turkey . But what you don't know, and is easy enough to search is, that those missiles were already scheduled for removal as they were significantly out-dated . Just a simple fact that can change the entire view of someone who was not aware .

It might not hurt him with democrats, but you don't win elections when the other party won't vote for you, and I don't think Republicans are likely to vote for Obama. It isn't simply the fact that he was raised a Muslim, but the question of whether or not that upbringing will make him an appeaser of Islamic fascism. And, yes, likely it will. Therefore, he will be an unacceptable candidate for the US presidency for the voters in this country who understand that radical muslims want us all dead.

Not that he has a chance, but I think living in a Muslim country would be a plus,in that I would want a Chief Executive of a country or a corporation to have a first hand understanding of as many cultures as possible.

You seems very narrow minded and full of hate for Muslims! Although Obama is not my favorite candidate but he seems like a very nice person and I will not discriminate against him because of his religion what ever it may be!
