by saying hey, the earth has had ice ages and warming ages for billions of years so it can't be man? The cons I'm talking about say this as if all these guys with Phds just plain forgot about the ice ages.

Do you guys seriously believe scientists haven't already taken into consideration natural causes?

They have and have stated that man made greenhouse gases are the primary cause of the relatively rapid change in global temperatures.

"A National Research Council report concluded that "[g]reenhouse gases are accumulating in the Earth's atmosphere as a result of human activities, causing surface air temperatures and subsurface ocean temperatures to rise. . . . The changes observed over the last several decades are likely mostly due to human activities"

It seems to me that for most people - HOW THE MESSAGE IS PRESENTED seems to matter more.

Should we then just elect actors as our top politicians and just feed them their lines on Q cards based on what party is elected at the time?

And why do they promote the use of mercury filled energy saving light bulbs that are made in China where there is no EPA.

Seems they identify a problem then complain about the solution.

Just like the drug companies that they say won't find cures for illness because there is more money in treating the problem then solving it.

and force them to say they were in Iraqi waters and have them apologize to Iraq and her people for their intrusion? I think if we did that and then "pardoned" them the world would look at us in a better light. Or does that only apply to Iran?

Step 1: We do things such as driving gas-guzzling vehicles, emitting harmful gases into the environment.

Step 2: These gases open up holes in our ozone layer.

Step 3: With our ozone layer degraded, more of the Sun's rays are able to penetrate our atmosphere.

It's as simple as that.
Most scientists endorse the theory of global warming, noting a rise in annual global temperatures.
How in the world is it even remotely possible that it doesn't exist?!?!?

My boyfriend is American and I am Canadian. We've been told that in order for him to work in Canada he needs to live with me for a year (so we are commonlaw) and then I can sponsor him.

He is a graphic designer who works online. Is it okay for him to make money online still while he is living in Canada?

Hard sciences, as distinguisehed from soft sciences such as psychology and other social sciences, are mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, and a host of other disciplines. I was just released from the Canadian Forces basic training, and as pathetic as this sounds, I signed a voluntary release on my 3rd day. There were small reasons, like I didn't have any idea what I was getting into when I signed up, but the main reason was I collapsed twice when standing at attention with my platoon, the first time was 30 minutes into standing up, the 2nd time was 15 minutes standing outside an instructor's office.

I wonder what it's like for every other recruit in the army. Is it easy for them to stand still during drill? Are they thinking "Hmm it's been an hour, my legs are getting tired," and not "Oh God, I'm starting to black out, the blood sugar's draining from my head!" I have this issue. I can stand up for long periods, as long as I can move muscles freely. It must be great to be one of those that doesn't worry about this issue, that standing up for long periods of time doesn't bother them a bit. Anyone got their 2 cents on this issue?

Hillary accepted money from PAC
Took money from her Senator's fundraising purse
Used some of her own money
Her 5 hip-pocket endorsers money

and she's the front runner?

How in the hell did that happen? From the last time I look these are not everyday voters. Just how much money came from real voters besides her husband?

If there are facts that are proven by virtually all scientists, why do people deny that such facts are true?

In the medieval, Galileo Galilei had a bad time because he found out that the sun and the earth don't do what the church guys said.

In the 1970s scientits finally found out that asbestos causes lung cancer... quite a while after the year 1900 when some doctors found out the same but could not prove well enough. Of course, the industry opposed their opinion.

In the last decades we heard some news about the risks of smoking. In the USA there was a fast change, whereas in Europe science still has to face opposition, especially in politics.

Well, and when it comes to global warming, the first thing I read here in all the answers is something like "global warming is bull****, and only tree huggers believe in that nonsense..."

Why is that so?

Why do people deny scientific facts?
