slow poke - what a fitting name. Did you read the part that says "in the flesh"? Okay, I'll explain. "i.e." means "that is" while "in the flesh" means "has a physical body". Now, go ask your mom if you're still confused

So, you're all calling Jesus a slacker and saying he wouldn't vote?

Neither. Jesus was a hippie, a radical, an independent free-thinker. I am atheist, but observing Jesus as a historical figure I think his stance on many issues would be obvious. Many issues, however, right wing fundamentalists have grossly perverted.

Guns - No,
Death Penalty - No,
Medical Marijuana - Yes
Global Warming - Yes
Poverty - A VERY HIGH priority to abolish.
Free trade - Yes. (white collar crime-NO)

Abortion - He might not agree but he would NOT bomb an abortion clinic and would acknowledge that women may act on their own free will and that a child shouldn't be brought into this world under the wrong circumstances (IE; inability to care for a child, conceived under rape, incest etc. ) Also the world is overloaded with existing children who need help NOW - care for them first before bringing in more children.

Gay Marriage - YES. Why? Jesus WOULD NOT discriminate. He was all about equality. Any derogatory remarks in the bible is self-editorialized bigotry added in by the humans who wrote later wrote it.

Education - Should be available for all on an equal basis. There would be no elite Ivy league schools for the rich and connected.

Taxes - Yes, as community funding for roads, schools, health care etc...BUT NOT TO FUND A WAR.

War on Terror - He'd kill em' with kindness and practice diplomacy not violence. Iraq - ABSOLUTELY NOT.

Crime - He would try to curtail with rehabilitation, penance and lock up for the safety of others but never inhumane treatment, torture or the death penalty. (and yes that would apply to terrorists and even evil dictators alike such as Saddam, Hitler and George W. Bush)

Jesus would not be political - his disciples wanted him to make a stand against the Romans and he wouldn't do it - hot button political issue of that time and place. His views would appear to be a mix of the two. He wouldn't like the moral depravity that characterizes many liberals, but he would be absolutely against war and the death penalty. If anything, Jesus's message was very pacifistic.

He would follow the traditions set by the prophets and be a Anarchist.

The Bible clearly teaches that all the followers of God are anti government.

The basic message "come out from among them and be holy and separate" is consistent from the time of Abraham to today.

I really don't think he would take a particular side. He would probably go with the stand for what is right. Some democrats are right and wrong some republicans are right and wrong all at the same time. He would stand for what was right. No matter what side it was Democrat or Republican.

Jesus would more likely be a Socialist or Anarchist, rather than a Democrat or Republican. He was a revolutionary in his time- opposing the established religious system, befriending "evil-doers", embracing adulterers, healing the sick without charging them, etc. etc. etc.

I believe Jesus would not fit into our typical modern day political spectrum except maybe as some kind of loner, political activist who was bullied, spit on, and called unpatriotic by Bill O'Reilly.

Why do you think He would be belong to either party? As I understand he had nothing to do with politicians except when he was brought before them at his trial and when the Romans or Herrod needed something from people in general.

The Republicans would crucify Him for preaching love and tolerance to everyone else, and the Democrats would crucify Him for trying to force His religion on everyone else and telling them how they should live their lives.

each side has it's good things and bad things. Im a republican myself, but because Jesus is perfect and does not comform to human sins and desires, he would probably agree and disagree with different things from each side.

I dont think that Jesus would be on any side, but his own.

I think if Jesus were alive today I wouldnt be too worried about what party he belonged to.
