Land based vs sea based. Both have some pretty awesome fighters. The F22 is the most advanced fighter in our inventory right now. Lockheed Martin, Boeing and the USAF have achieved another milestone as the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor air dominance fighter destroyed a small ground target in the F-22's fastest and highest JDAM delivery yet. At the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico a Raptor flying at 1.5 times the speed of sound (1.5 Mach, 1142 miles per hour)and an altitude of 50,000 feet released a 1000 pound JDAM which destroyed a small target 24 nautical miles (27.5 miles) away. The ability to release a munition at supersonic speeds and standoff ranges greatly increases the aircrews survival rate while taking out heavily guarded ground targets.

Air Force fights in the air with Bombers, Fighters, Transports Planes, etc. Army fights on the ground with Tanks, Cannons, Infantry, Helicopters etc. Marines are the same as the Army except the are stationed on Navy ships. Navy Has Big Boats and fights on the Ocean with Aircraft Carriers, Submarines, Destroyers, Missile Cruisers, etc.

If you want to fly, hope you have the vision requirement, and the mental aptitude. Nasa currently has the fastest jet which used to be part of the Air Force inventory... the SR-71. Now for fighter jets, the Air Force is still pretty much top dog, with increased types of aircraft. Dont get me wrong, the Navy has some fine aircraft as well, but I prefer to keep my feet dirtside if they are not in the air!

Both have airplanes. Air Force doesn't have air craft carries. Navy and Marine Corps planes are mostly fighters - air to air, attack - air to ground or troop carriers. Air Force has fighter and attack. Air Force also has the larger cargo planes and high altitude bombers.
When it comes to close air support for troops the Air Force doesn't do as much as Navy and Marine Corps. When it comes to hauling supplies the Air Force is quicker than having a Navy ship deliver the goods.

As ex-Navy... we can land on a postage stamp !!
If you look at the different aircraft... you'll also notice that Navy landing gear are BIG... while Air Force landing gear looks like twigs !!
Navy carrier landings are controlled CRASHES... the Air Force has 2-3 mile long runways to float in on like little sparrows.
Also... US Navy Dress Uniforms are almost 150 years old... and SUCK !! The Air Force is just over 50 years old... and look nicer.

The Air Force needs a huge airstrip (unless they've got one of those vertical takeoff/landing planes) and the Navy can land on an aircraft carrier's tiny runway.

The only difference between the both is the 'jurisdiction'. Air Force is meant to manage the Jurisdiction in the Air of any country and the Navy is for its jurisdiction i.e. Sea and its boundry joining other country's boundry....but both have air crafts because they have to meet their responsibilities as sea also have sky...so navy is having air crafts and air force don't have concern about sea until govt ask it to help out........... simple

I don't know how old you are kid, but you should realize 2 things:
1) The Navy has more aircraft than the Air Force
2) By the time you are able to join, the Air Force will be part of the Army (like it originally was)
These are some things to take into consideration, also remember the Army has more boats than the Navy.

..........besides the sea thing, they are the mainly support for their respective branches. the air force is tied closely with the army. the navy with the marines. they both concentrate on technical jobs like missile guidance and electricians, as well as vehicle operations.
