Seems leaving behind the so called pork that american jobs rely on back home is just part of republican dirty tricks .
A lot of this spending is what keeps america a float .
This is nothing new . Tax the poor to provide profits for the rich that trickle back to the right kind of people .
Church going mostly middle of the road hard working democrats and those wacky conservative republicans that are trying to blame the democrats now for loading up the budget with their unfinished business .

This is serious, please do not just respond with slams and name calling. I feel that so many people are missing the point on our Government. George Bush is not an all powerful dictator. He is 1/3rd of the government. He does not act alone. Is civics or government still taught in school? Do you hate mongers not understand that he can only do what congress and the Court allow? Everything is paid for by Congress. Every move to shut off funds was stalled in political wrangling in Congress. If the war were indeed illegal the Supreme Court would step in.
I do not support Bush and his adventures. I think he is way off course. But then so must be Congress. Or, maybe I should ask if things are not taught this way. These explosive name calling sessions on here indicate a total lack of knowledge, to me.

Here is why:

The purpose of the Iraq invasion was not to liberate anyone or fight any kind of terrorists. Those were all pretenses sold to the stupid American public.

The purpose of the Iraq invasion was to give US oil firms access to Iraqi oil fields. Iraq has the world's 2nd largest oil reserves.

The reason troops are needed is to protect supply lines & allow the oil firms to pump while the troops protect their equipment. Of course, about half of the troops are sent to Baghdad and other places to "fight terrorists" so the news media have something to write about.

There are two reasons gasoline is at almost $3 a gal.

1. It keeps our "Allies" such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen etc. happy and quiet. They know Bush is pumping and essentially stealing Iraqi oil. But they keep quiet because they're now making twice as much money on oil than they were pre-Iraq invasion when gas was at $1.50 a gal.

2. Bush is raping the American public. Oil profits flow in his secret accounts.

China has the biggest numbers in military members at 11 million. USA 2.2 million members including reserve & national guard units! I know the younger generation is scared of military service but congress should triple the active military forces just to be half in man power of the sleeping Giant!

The reason I overstayed by 12 hours was because, 14 years ago when this happened, I had stayed in floriday with family for 3 months, I have a british passports so this is allowed, On my way to the airport there was a storm from hell, traffic was thick, I missed my flight by 10 minutes and had to wait in the airport for another available flight. 12 hours later, I was on a plane home. Ive been to America, hundreds of times since this incident with no problems. Then in may 2005 whilst in transit to Turks and caicos, I had to go via miami, I was treated like a criminal and told to get a visa if I planned on coming back. I called the american embassy in London who advised me that my situation wasnt a serious one and that I could still travel without a visa but, I still get harrassed by immigration everytime I go to the states... How do I get around this without having to go through the expence of getting visa's everytime I go for something which was beyond my control at the time??

Harry Reid says he will withhold all funding of the troops. We support you by not letting you do your job. Is that support? Maybe he should get the same kind of support.

It's been over a week, and no one seems to think Diane Feinstein did anything serious enough to warrant news coverage. I'm wondering, if this was Karl Rowe, or choose your favorite hated Republican, and that person was directing contracts to their spouse, got caught, and had to resign from their committee, would there be any press coverage? Where's the outrage?

Nancy Pelosi has commited treason by going behind our President and met with the Syrian President and should be put in jail,She is just the beginning of a bunch of democratic liberals that will bring our country to ruin! We must stop this bunch and vote for Fred Thompson when he finally throws his hat in the ring for President!

It's so obvious that diplomacy can work, if you send the right people.

Pelosi goes to the Middle East.
Immediate result:
1. The 15 British are to be released. Although I don't give her direct credit for this, maybe seeing the 'other diplomatic side' of America had something to do with it.
2. Israel sends a message to Syria (through her) that it's time to 'talk about peace'.

Condi, are you there?

We were one inch away from nuclear war . The Soviet Union was playing Kennedy as a young, inexperienced fool . Thank God he wasn't !! That man, a Democrat, did one of the finest jobs of negotiating through 'Strength' that I have ever witnessed . Only Reagan compares in that same arena .

Now, what would've happened if some of the Republican Congressmen were going behind his back and sending mixed signals to the Soviets ?
Clearly the Soviets would've been more likely to militarily challenge our President. . . knowing that he didn't have the full support of the House or Senate .

And a military challenge would've been Nuclear. . . Disastrous . . . . and Catastrophic for the entire world . Heck, we might not even be here today, had they done that !!

So. . . Knowing this. . . What do you think about Nancy Pelosi(and a couple of Republicans) doing an 'end around' on our official foreign policy, set forth by our commander in chief ?

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad criticized Britain for deploying Leading Seaman Faye Turney, one of the 15 detainees, in the Gulf, pointing out that she is a woman with a child.

"How can you justify seeing a mother away from her home, her children? Why don't they respect family values in the West?" he asked of the British government.
