And if China did the same, we'd never be able to match them. Keep in mind that China has over 1.2 Billion people, while the US has just 300 Million. The outnumber us by about 4 to 1.
Now, while China has 11 million troops, how do you suspect that they'd move a sizeable force to take the United States? They don't have the troop transport capability within their navy or air force. Indeed, they'd have to get through US naval and air power first, before they could even land troops on our shores. Such a scenario is very unlikely.

i have a problem with the draft not that i dont want to get drafted i cant im in already and yes extra support would be nice but not in that form not to mention yes China lists there military at 11 million however most of that is minamally trained people in reserve type units some of which have never fired a weapon and in regards to the comment(s) about rebuplicans being war lovers well lets see last i checked it was democrats in congress that most recently supported a draft but yes i suppose you could call republicans war lovers if you mean they actually have the balls to go to war i mean hell clinton cound have nailed both osama and sadam while he was president my favorate was when osama was in the cross hairs of american snipers and they were denied permisson to shoot from the highest authority now that would be the president for all military memebers so theres a reality check

Is there a question here somewhere? You're supposed to ask the question and we're supposed to give the answer. Get it?
China has a population of 1.3billion people. The USA has a population of 250million. We can draft everyone into the military and China could easily match our numbers.

Your failing to take into account a number of different factors.
First, the ability to accomplish things is much greater for someone who is there voluntarily, than some one who is forced to be there.
Second, training and quality of equipment are "Force Mulitipliers". We make up what we lack in numbers by having a highly trained, highly motivated force with outstanding equipment.
This is the same equation we faced with the soviets.

Sorry, but conscripted armies just don't work. Volunteers are more motivated, they follow the rules (including rules of engagement), and are very dedicated.
Besides, the SIZE of your army is less important than their training, leadership, teamwork and equipment.
You'll see this proven again and again in military history where smaller, but better organized forces prevail against larger but ill-trained forces.

Funny...the leader of the Japanese fleet called US the sleeping giant after they attacked Pearl Harbor.
Well, the only ones calling for a DRAFT are the LIBERALS...which frankly is a laugh riot!

We couldn't afford to pay that many people in the military. Our military is leaner and more efficient than the bloated forces of the countries that outnumber us.
