Seems leaving behind the so called pork that american jobs rely on back home is just part of republican dirty tricks .
A lot of this spending is what keeps america a float .
This is nothing new . Tax the poor to provide profits for the rich that trickle back to the right kind of people .
Church going mostly middle of the road hard working democrats and those wacky conservative republicans that are trying to blame the democrats now for loading up the budget with their unfinished business .

Why did Democrats want to add all this extra stuff to a spending bill that had no relation to what it was supposed to be created for? This bill is for the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq, not all that other stuff. They should have put that in a separate bill. Besides, if the Democrats really cared about the funding for our troops, wouldn't they have spent their time coming up with a bill that they knew the president would approve of? Instead, they wasted weeks putting together a bill they knew the president would disapprove of. Was this just an attempt to try and make the president look bad for their own political gain? Either way, it is obvious that the troops are not their number one concern. If they were their number one concern, they would stop playing these political games and get a bill on the presidents desk that they know he will approve of.

I think the statements made by Nancy Pelosi about this being the most ethical congress ever kind of make attaching pork (which has always happened) seem a bit hypocritical.

It also doesn't help that the pork in question is attached to an emergency military funding bill and is openly acknowledged as bribes to democrat congressmen that were on the fence about voting on the bill.

Seeing where you get your facts, I'm not surprised you think the way you do. Money for the DNC and RNC parties is not helping Joe Blow in anyway. Why not pass a clean bill then go pass a bill to help Joe Blow. Oh thats right their bill would have not even passed if they hadn't loaded it full of pork. It's called Buying votes. It's also quite amusing that the first thing i can remember Naggy Peelousy saying is that they were not going to allow pork in bills, or ear marks. She has lied already to the American people. Impeach her now for lying to us lol.

Well the polar opposite is the dems way of taxing the rich and freely offering it to the poor. This is America get a job, and abolish welfare. But more importantly it doesnt matter who you are, fund the troops. The underlying issue is Congress takes vacation, and leaves several hundred thousand families of deployed soldiers wondering if they will still get paid.

The bill includes $74 million for peanut storage, $25 million for spinach growers. There's $6.4 million for the House of Representatives' salaries and expense accounts. $3.5 million for visitors to tour the Capitol and see for themselves how Congress works (or doesn't!).

Who are you kidding. The Dems 'bought' their votes with these bribes to 'dare' the president into a VETO. Guess what? Bush is calling their bluff!

That's easy to answer. The reason GW is calling the pot black is to throw off some of the limelight that has had a permanent place over his head. He has been constantly called to answer, why did he start the war, why is he still in it, why hasn't he changed, why hasn't he grown, why, why, why? And that is only the tip of the iceberg. The easiest way to deflect all of the problems that he has is to either answer the questions, or put someone else on the front page of the newspapers. So, you know that he is not going to come clean about his faults, so, why not just accuse the democrats for wrong doing, even though, as you said, all politicans from all sides of the isle do it to gain favor for whatever bill they want passed.

I haven't heard him say the reason he's vetoing the bill is because of the pork. Pork gets attached to MOST bills. I've heard him blame the timeline, nothing else.

They did....do the questions get tougher? If the Dems cared about the Troops in the least bit, they could have presented a Bill that would have passed on it's own merits. When you are told before you draft a bill, that a bill with a time-line will get vetoed then you draft one with a time-line just shows how the Dems continue to use our Troops as political pawns, and that is outrageous.

Funny how bush never cried foul when it was republican pork attached to the bill.

This man is by far the most partisan hack since Nixon.

The thief often shout "Catch Thief" the loudest, to distract others and to make himself appear less guilty.

The silly ignorant conservatives are the ones most guilty of perpetuating this incorrect picture of the Democrats.

When it comes to Pork, the Republicans are the true connoisseurs.
