why should you be? you would've broken US laws by throwing that grenade.
the reason expatriate are protected by embassies in foreign countries is because of the conflict of different laws. one may have broken the residing country's law, but not the home country's law. and that will take time to resolve diplomatically, so before that is resolved, they should be protected.
but in your case scenario, you would've made a law violation so obvious and universal, regardless where you're, you'd be arrested.

no. in fact since you've saked this question publicly the fbi is probably already putting you on their watch list.
You have far less rights anyway than foreigners that are on our soil in embassies.
Diplomats can run up parking tickets, drive drunk, & kill people yet because of their diplomatic immunity they can get away with pretty much anything.

No, that's the other way around. It is the foreign ambassadors who are free to do things like that. If you're on US ground, you are responsible for your actions and therefore you would be arrested.
