This is serious, please do not just respond with slams and name calling. I feel that so many people are missing the point on our Government. George Bush is not an all powerful dictator. He is 1/3rd of the government. He does not act alone. Is civics or government still taught in school? Do you hate mongers not understand that he can only do what congress and the Court allow? Everything is paid for by Congress. Every move to shut off funds was stalled in political wrangling in Congress. If the war were indeed illegal the Supreme Court would step in.
I do not support Bush and his adventures. I think he is way off course. But then so must be Congress. Or, maybe I should ask if things are not taught this way. These explosive name calling sessions on here indicate a total lack of knowledge, to me.

The Supreme Court, if the case were brought, could declare an action illegal. Shut down was too harsh of a statement. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Unfortunately, many acts happen that do not have any basis in the Constitution. Seperation of Church and State are a good example and the 5th Amendment.
Once again, thank you for simmering me down.

While I certainly agree with 99% of your post. I have to ask, where in the Constitution, does the Supreme Court get it's authority to "shut down" a war? What method would this move take?

Most dealings with the Court (in wartime) throughout history, have been done to suspend certain "rights". And many of those suspensions were done without the courts knowledge (in the beginning) and without it's approval.

I ask this not to chastise, but to further "my" understanding and education.

Welcome to politics! Politics and our government are both topics which many are passionate about. Often, when people ask a question regarding a particular candidate, party, or issue, those who do not agree with the questioners opinion, get offended. When this happens some people let their passion override their intelligence and answer with name calling and innuendo, although in many instances the question, as well, was filled with much of the same. You will notice that many questions are posed for the express purpose of eliciting anger from the opposition. After a while, people get tired of their views being ridiculed through the use of rhetoric and innuendo, and let loose with diatribes of their own.

You are 100% correct. The problem we have here is that there are political leaders (Pelosi, Clinton, Obama) allowing people to believe that Bush is evil. These leaders understand that people are ignorant of the system but they are not about to correct the misunderstanding.

You hit the nail on the head when you referenced lack of education because that is where the true problem lies. Ignorant people are easier to manipulate. The country has been successfully divided and is weaker as a result. I wonder if anyone is concerned about that?

Like I've said for the last 12 years...

We (America) thought it was a warm sauna, but in reality, we're in a boiling pot!
Most are being cooked so slow, they don't even realize it.
There's the problem.

Translation: Just because something's introduced slowly...does NOT make it "normal"...or...."correct."
