Farage and his party are a joke. They have no positive policy, only an anti-Europe xenophobic stance.
If you want to be ruled by people who read the Daily Mail and are outraged by the 'facts' it quotes, then vote UKIP.

Farage is in the enviable position that he can say what ever he wants to say as he knows their is no chance of his party getting into power. Cast your minds back to all the things the Libdems promised when they thought they had no chance of getting into power, and then look what happened when the did. Before the elections they were on opposite sides of the spectrum from the Tories on just about every issue, these included cutting the deficit over a longer term, no major topdown reorganisation of the NHS, no tripling of tuition fees and breaking up the banks amongst other things. Withing a very short time Clegg was heard saying to Cameron that they would have to find something to disagree on. They had miraculously decided that when in government that they actually agreed with EVERYTHING that the Tories believed in. Farage is a right wing Tory who, like all Tories, will ensure the wealthy are looked after at the expense of everyone else. Just like the BNP blamed immigrants for all our problems some years ago, so much so that some dimwits in a certain part of our country thought it would be a good idea to have them run their council, so Farage and UKIP do it now. Thankfully UKIP have no controlling majority in any council in our country and thankfully they will have no control of our country from Parliament. If you want a good laugh, look up UKIP's tax policy and ask yourself just how they are going to fund the £120BN shortfall that will result from it. As for immigration, why not ask Farage and UKIP just why their five year freeze on immigration has now been dropped. It appears at one point they were going to let in 50,000 a year, yet from what Farage said on the television a few nights ago, that could now be 100,000 a year. The only thing Farage has stayed constant on is that he wants a referendum on the EU, as though that will solve all our problems, it won't, in fact it will most likely do the opposite.

I used to hate the UKIP and think they were all washed up racists, like the BNP. But that simply isn't the case any more.
Too many political parties are lining up to sell this country out. Look at what New Labour has done - equality has gone back, prices have skyrocketed, and the economy is turning into an American Ponzi scheme where we'll enjoy 10 years of fortune and then suddenly go bust. The Conservatives and Liberals aren't an effective opposition, they just rally round the popular vote and flow with all the political myths of the time.
Britain can retain its sovereignty, or allow the tentacles of big European, Asian and American corporations to turn England into a football field and play football with its economy. That's not racism. That's just not a future for the UK. In fact, that's no future at all.

In view of the opposition he is up against I don't see why not. It certainly seems to me that UKIP have more attractive policies at the moment. I shall vote for UKIP next time because I am sick to death of all the others.
Incidentally, he can't be more light weight than Call me Dave.

Not sure if he'd make a good leader - but he dosent speak like a politician. Hes a lot more straight talking. And UKIP's stance on the EU is impressive, they seek to enlighten people about how we are no longer governered by our own government. They will also take a harsher stance aganist beuracracy and dangerous liberalism. Things like letting mentally disturbed people back into society who should be locked up. Hopefully they will totally overhaul the home office who are tearing this country apart with rampant incompetance.

No, UKIP are just a bunch of reactionary Little Englanders. They would prove to be an utter washout if they had any power.

I don't know that much about the man, and I certainly disagree with most of his parties stated policies. From what I've seen of him, however, he seems to be reasonably sensible as politicians go, but I doubt very much whether he's got enough political gravitas to be an effective leader of the country.
Although I will never support UKIP or their policies myself, it seems to me that they are a much more logical choice for those who are inclined towards right wing Euro-scepticism than either the Tories or the far right lunatic fringe that is the BNP.
The more votes they take from the Tories, the better Labour's chances of being re-elected as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah I'd have to agree, I don't think he's the best leader for the UKIP either, but considering what he's up against, he can't really fail

Absolutely.
It's a difficult job fighting the inertia of political change but Nigel is the man for the job.
Blair,Cameron or Campbell, you must be joking. Is this what this great country has come to? It's akin to having to choose having your finger nails pulled off or your teeth extracted without anaesthetic.
Get wise you people out there, if you have a choice of a UKIP candidate vote for him.
