Tambourine sent me a message boasting that he/she/it plays dirty and that Shiraz is a schoolboy compared to him/her/it. Since this person has so many identities, do you think this is a case of multiple personality disorder?

Bush is way out of line here, he is trying to pick a fight with the democrats. I mean cutting the funding will limit what our troops can do. He says loved ones will not return home later then sooner if the funding gets cut. This is a bribe he needs to come to terms and send out troops home. We are wasting our time and money in Iraq.

I am arguing with friends, what story made the US public support that war. My opinion is, that story about babies been taken out of incubators in Kuwait, by Iraqi soldiers (it was later found out, that the 17 year old girl (eyewitness), was daughter of a Kuwait Diplomat, born in CA and had never left the USA.) Can anybody shed some light?

Here's the story my friend (she's 17) was walking to her car from school and there's this path where people cross to get on the other side well she was walking and a car was speeding up and the girl driving (also 17) ran over her foot and stopped. She acted like she could care less. Everyone told her to move back but she didn't then after a minute she moved back. Her foot is totally black and I don't know if it's broken and everyone there was saying oh you can walk home when she was about to cry. She went to the clinic to get an x-ray and the principal did nothing about it. What would you do in this situation or what do you think she should do?

Has the court ever disregarded stare decisis and overturned its previous cases?

See:

Plessy v. Ferguson
Brown v. Board
Dred Scott v. Sanford

To name a few... The USSC ruled on these and later overturned them.

There is no reason why Roe v. Wade cannot be overturned.

In colonial times we were a colony of ENGLAND. The militia fought AGAINST ENGLAND. It maintained its own cache of weapons. In fact the Revolution began when the British regulars tried to confiscate the Lexington militia's weapons and the militia refused and fought back.

The National Guard is a unit of the central government, its weapons are maintained by the central government, it gets its orders from the central government.

How is it that people who oppose the Second Amendment believe that that these two types of organization, which appear in every relevant respect to be the opposite of each other, to mean the same thing?

Will win? Congress or President Bush?

I think it'll be congress based on past history - no president with low approval ratings has won a budget battle with an empowered Congress in modern history. Nixon backed down over Vietnam, and Newt Gingrich backed down from Clinton's veto because Clinton had high approval ratings, and the public blamed Congress for stalling the process. The people wanted the Federal shutdown to end so were behind Clinton.

In this fight the people want a tangible solution to ending the Iraq war. Bush is not exactly in the best approval ratings shape (understatement), and Congress is doing what the people demanded in Nov 06.

Like it or not cons - the will of the people does have powerful effects on politicians - which is how it should be.

in 15 years never received a ticket....today i received a ticket for supposedly going 16 miles over the speed limit. when i returned home to inspect the ticket, i noticed the officer incorrectly wrote the wrong month (he wrote march instead of april). i am responsibile within 10 days the date of the ticket. according to the ticket's date, i am already 20 days past due. i called the station and was given a "don't worry about it" response. my wife believes that because of the error, as a legal document it should be voided and thrown out. i am thinking of showing up to court and explaining this. do i have a good argument?

Do I just stop recieving payments for National Guard and then start recieving payments from Air Force? Do I have to pay back the GI bill from the Guard since I didn't fullfil the complete 6 year agreement? What happens?

Zbigniew Brzezinski a professor of American foreign policy at Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies gave Bush an F in his recent book on American presidents.

That tells you there is a reason you shouldn't hire a C average student to run the country.

BTW Clinton got a C from Zbig and GHW Bush got a B.

I feel that she does not have the knowledge, the know how or the strenght to be a Commander / Chief. To her this is all about the celebrity and she is out-of-line to be running. She thinks she should be president of our nation, cause she can raise money. Where is she coming from, with no foundation to her campaign and changing the person she is to the person she is talking to. Why the hell are we doing this?

Over the summer of 2002. Bush stepped up his case for a preemptive attack outlining the new doctrine for pre-emptive attacks in a commencement speech at West Point.
Brent Scowcroft, the national security adviser during the first Bush administration warned against a "go-it-alone" strategy. "An attack on Iraq at this time would seriously jeopardize, if not destroy, the global counterterrorist campaign we have undertaken," Scowcroft wrote.
Lawrence Eagleburger, who served in the first Bush administration spoke out, saying the nation needs answers before any war against Iraq.
Air attacks rocked Baghdad with thunderous explosions that filled the skies with flames and huge clouds of smoke as U.S. aircraft unleased the "shock and awe". The massive Republican Palace complex along the winding Tigris River took the brunt of the first wave. Airstrikes damaged Baghdad's Peace Palace, a building used for visiting dignitaries. He said the Flowers Palace, a museum was also hit.

In my experiance it has helped me to become less polarized and more willing to give the Liberal's views some thought. I still don't agree on most issues but it has helped me become more open and willing to listen to both side of the issues. My opinion on things like immigration have been changed heavilly and while I believe that illegal immigration is very wrong and needs to be corrected I now also am for a guest worker program where the people coming in are tracked and documented. YA has made me a more thoughtfull person. I still don't agree with the liberals but I may be a little more moderate now.

My brother spent 2006 in Iraq laying his life on the line daily for our mission there. I know the costs our soldiers and their families are paying to complete this mission. The timeline you are fighting for is telling them that it does not matter what they sacrifice today nor what they have sacrificed and endured the past years of this war. It says that no matter what happens, we're calling it quits on x date! Help me understand: How does this support our troops? How does this support what they are fighting and dying for? Why are the requests of our military
commanders ignored regarding this timeline? If winning this war is not important, why not bring all our troops home today? This timeline tells me that all my brother fought for and experienced the horrors of war for was for nothing. If we (America)are going to quit on a timeline rather than a victory line, don't spend another life. Bring them all home now!

Don't you think, even if they disagree, both the repubs and dems should stand as a united front when dealing with the rest of the world?

Fine, have your disagreements, that's what the floor of the Senate and Congress is for, but Pelosi going to a country that the US has called problematic, that's just wrong, in my view.

It shows weakness, it shows lack of cohesion, it exemplifies the superficial showboating our politicians on both sides have come to understand is key in politics.

In my honest opinion, I feel Pelosi meeting with Syria is just as detrimental as Bush continuing to send troops to Iraq. Our country's political parties are completely out of control and not longer serve the 'will of the people'.
