If you hear our President speak, one gets the impression that Bush really is an idiot. Even if he has the lowest IQ of any US President, is he really stupid, or just inarticulate?

Well, let's see ...

Harvard MBA. Learned to fly a combat fighter. Ran a professional baseball franchise. Governed the second largest state in the Union.

Yup, sounds pretty stupid to me.

I'd go with crummy public-speaking skills if I was you.

I don't think he's literally stupid. Just a little slow on the uptake and not given to being good at speaking off the cuff. He's an embarrassment when it comes to foreign relations, that's for sure. But then again, arrogance is often something displayed by those who just aren't too bright. We already know he is incompetent at managing a war. Maybe my first sentence is wrong after all.

You mean the same guy who outperformed environmental superhero and icon, Al Gore, at Yale? That George Bush?

Unfortunately, being articulate was is not one of Bush's strong points. However, America also had some guy named Thomas Jefferson, who was a stutterer. Yes, I know..different time, different era, but if my memory serves me correctly, Jefferson did ok.

I don't know, but whichever it is... it's embarrassing.

Think about the fact that 99% of the speeches the man gives are pre-written by OTHER people (that is NOT a slam against Bush... it's that way for every President), and all he has to do is deliver them. The fact that he's incapable of even reading them correctly is a little scary.

They're not mutually exclusive; one can simultaneously be stupid and inarticulate, as he continues to prove on a daily basis. To those who will predictably mention that he went to Yale: he got in because of his wealthy and influential family, not because of his contributions to academia. Who do you think you're fooling in suggesting otherwise?

He is no smarter than a trained monkey and performs quite well according to Dinkess Cheney and the PNAC Bush Administration.

He is a strong leader that has a hard time getting his point across. I think if he would gust talk and not try to use all the big words, people would be more receptive to him.

Not everyone can speak publicly..It is not a sign of ignorance, or stupidity.....I wonder what you would sound like in front of thousands of people...I speak for a living and I get tongue tied on occasion.... His IQ is no lower than anyone else on average....You need to get out of my country and stop bashing my President....

MSNBC ran a piece called "Is George Bush an Idiot?" I think the fact that this is completly valid question speaks for itself.

See now you are the one who looks not so smart because that chart of past presidents IQ's is fabricated.

President Bush has character, I don't really care if libs think he is articulate or not. Your boy Hitler was articulate but, he didn't have much character.
