I'm doing a research paper on the subject of British rule in India and how it came about. Did Britain fabricate an excuse to impose itself militarily on India and colonize her?

The Dixie Chicks made music history at the 49th Grammy Awards on February 11, when they became the first female group ever to take home ALL THREE top Grammy honors, even after Repub.Politicians and their stooges on the right showed their true Fascist colors and tried to shut them off of radio stations and deny them a voice.

as a soldier i find my self not understanding this question, the majority of the troop will say they suppot the war and understand why they are there. the politition's need to read the Constitution, its not there place to make military policey, they agreed to go to war, so they dont have the right to say when we get out, it is the policey of the military to let the commanders tell the commander and chief the situation and when the job is done, they have the right to speak there mind. we dont fight the fights that we can win, we fight the fights that need fighting. the soldiers are fighting for the american way "freedom" the right to stand up for thoughs who can not fight for themselves. right now the iraqi's can not fight for themselves, if we leave, anouther nation will comin and dominate the nation. if you support the troops, then you support the war, because the troops do. if you want to protest something, then start saying that you dont support the polititians decitions.

my husband joined the army (after being my dependent while I was active army) knowing what he would face since joining after the iraq fiasco started. What do those of you who oppose this war + keep their opinions to themselves on post do to ease the separation time especially if the FRG (family readiness group) is really not the place for someone like me (in terms of not being able to find solace in a group of spouses whose hubbies are career soldiers + can't honestly relate their opinions and feelings since everything there is meant to keep the army + its activities in a positive light as an end goal. because how many "successful" enlisted personell and officers have spouses on base involved in FRG that decry the war. Also, his benefits are NOT something he was going for or that I need 2 use since I have my own insurance and means to support our family. There wasn't a single financial/benefit based reason for him to join. He just wanted to "volunteer" and I feel its abandonment

Do you think it was started by the U.S.'s imperialistic ways that caused inflation in the home countries of those now "illegals"? I strongly believe it was.

I don't get it. Now it's out that Gonzales apparently "forgot" about the November meeting he attended discussing the firing of the attorneys, which he was at first sure that he knew nothing about. But despite getting caught in his lie, Bush is still supporting him???? What? After everything the Republicans have said about Clinton lying, I can't believe this!

I've seen here that people dislike liberals because 'they spend more'.

But here is the thing..since Bush took office, spending has increased in EVERY department since 2001. Not just defense. EVERY department.

Add the Homeland Security, Iraq & Afghanistan wars, billions for contracters..

And then the national debt has increased to nearly 9 trillion, from the 5 trillion when Clinton was in office..

I think I'd maintain Clinton was more fiscally responsible than Bush ever could be.

You could try to blame Bush's overspending on Democrats, but you would be wrong, since the GOP controlled Congress from 2002-2006.

So I maintain Bush is a liberal. Big on spending money..and if not from taxes, he'll just borrow it and put America at the mercy of debtors in China, Japan, Europe, and wherever else.

It seems to me true conservatives would object to Bush's big government objectives. But maybe Bush supporters are just big government liberals in disguise?
