I have to write a paper that explains how government will affect my career. My major is in healthcare. It has to be 4-7 pages long. Anyone have any ideas or sites that might help me with this?

I know that I went to School for 4 years on Electronic Engineer, and 2 months before I was to graduate Nixon killed the field by cutting NASA 50%.
So yes the President can effect your school or your profession.

There's all kinds of current regulations, pending legislation, litigation issues regarding the health care industry. For example, look at your state licensing requirements for what the government says you have to do to receive and maintain your license. Also, there's federal regulation of drugs - both FDA and controlled substance laws that tell the health care professionals what they can and cannot do to help their patients. Then you've got the litigation side - there are new or pending laws regarding caps on medical malpractice lawsuits in many states.

Just look at the news to see what politicians are going to vote for nationalized healthcare, versus those who want to make Americans visit only healthcare providers in HMO's that are predecided for you.
