Does Iran want a war with the West? They seem to be trying everything under the sun to provoke an all out war with the West. I personally believe we are just in the earliest stages of WWIII, and the sooner we take them down, the better. What are your thoughts?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070324/ts_nm/iran_britain_dc

P.S. If you are a moderate Iranian, I would love to hear your take on this, and motivate you to persuade your government not to force us into action.

A female reporter said to nancy, regarding the pork in the bill they were 'celebrating', "Didn't you say you were not going to do this, when you controlled congress?"

Nancy avoided the topic and replied, "we never said we were not going to help the victims of hurricane katrina....." and quickly stepped away from the mic, as another stepped in.

Did anyone who did not realize nancy was a piece of garbage before, realize it then?

most democrats said, about the pork ridden bill passed, that "if they (lawmakers) cared about getting the troops home, they would vote for it anyways, disregarding the pork".

In other words, it doesn't matter what else they slip into the bill, They think it is such a good bill, that it should be passed regardless of non-issues in it.

----
I think this would get more votes from the minority congress:

Same bill, with timetable (which I disagree with), none of the spending pork, however. Additionally, all democrat congresspersons, who were elected or reelected in 2006, will step down from office, and may ever run for a political office again. 1Billion dollars goes to author of this bill (nicolasraage).

Would your democrat congresspeople support that, "because it is a good bill", and the other stuff doesn't matter? Would you support it?

Or are you a hypocrite, who actually realizes that putting things into a bill that have nothing to do with it actually matters?

I have always thought of joining the Military, but I am not sure of what branch or what I really want to do with my life yet.

I was thinking about it earlier today, and I thought I would get some other opinions.

What are the benefits of joining the military?

Aside from risking your life, what are the downsides?

Are you in the military? If so, what branch? Do you like it? What do you do? How often do you "work" (if that is the proper term)?
Do you live comfortably, financially and every other way?

Thanks!

I'm disturbed at what the Dems did yesterday. I think peple like Pelosi don't belong in public service. They don't care about anything except advancing the interests of the party. I think Bush and company are equally culpable. The AG firings tell you everything you need to know about that crowd. We haven't had real statesmen in office in a very long time - and it's not looking good going forward.

When Team Clinton Was Subpoenaed, Reporters Found “Hard-Charging Partisans” Wasting Tax Money

Ten Years Ago, Subpoenas
Drew TV Yawns

With the Democrats back in power, network anchors are dwelling lovingly on congressional hearings now with liberal stars like Al Gore and Valerie Plame. They've shown no loss of appetite for hearings on the U.S. Attorney-firings scandal, deemed a “constitutional crisis” by NBC Wednesday night. But ten years ago, when a Republican Congress prepared subpoenas for the Clinton White House on receiving political contributions from China, viewers heard the networks sing a very different tune.

ABC wondered whether subpoenas and hearings weren't democracy in action, but a waste of America's resources. On the April 10, 1997 World News Tonight, anchor Peter Jennings promoted a story: “When we come back, two investigations of fundraising abuse, two of them on Capitol Hill. Is it a waste of time and money?” Reporter John Cochran underlined the problem of GOP partisanship: “Dan Burton is a hard-charging partisan and has resisted investigating anyone but Democrats.”

ABC’s Linda Douglass insisted there was public boredom at the end of a story on the July 18, 1997 World News Tonight: “Democrats gripe that the hearings are too partisan, so next week the committee will focus on foreign contributions to Republicans, all the while wondering if the public is paying attention to any of this.”

CBS cast the House subpoena plans as a partisan food fight. On the April 11, 1997 CBS This Morning, substitute anchor Cynthia Bowers began: “Not long ago, there was a lot of talk on Capitol Hill about returning a sense of civility to congressional debate. Remember that? Well, forget it. When the debate is over money and politics, the gloves come off in the House of Representatives.”

Reporter Bob Schieffer warned: “The House committee trying to investigate campaign irregularities has broken into complete partisan disarray over how much power to give Republican Chairman Dan Burton....Democrats did everything but throw food when Burton laid out ground rules for the investigation, under which he could subpoena witnesses and documents without the Democrats' permission....Democrats say Burton is destroying the committee's credibility by concentrating only on Democratic irregularities....Democrats fear the probe is already out of control.”

On July 31, 1997, the Senate committee probing the Asian money scandal voted unanimously to subpoena the White House after they took months to release documents about illegal donations to the DNC. The only network mention came from Bob Schieffer on the July 30 CBS Evening News – but nothing after subpoenas were issued.

NBC theorized that the media were too Clinton-scandal obsessed in 1997. On June 17, 1997, Today co-host Katie Couric asked reporter Bob Woodward: “But are members of the media, do you think, Bob, too scandal-obsessed, looking for something at every corner?”

On August 1, even as the Senate moved to subpoena the White House, co-host Matt Lauer professed: “But there aren't any major storm clouds on the horizon for Bill Clinton, other than maybe Medicare reform.” Newsweek's Jonathan Alter replied: “Yeah, but of course there are these possible scandals, but when the economy is doing well, the public really doesn't seem to care much about anything else.”

On October 8, Today co-host Katie Couric framed the hearings for Sen. Arlen Specter: “Perhaps this is an intentional effort to embarrass the Democratic Party?” On the November 7 Today, NBC's Lisa Myers pressed Senator Fred Thompson: “Your hearings clearly reinforced the public's already low opinion of politicians and politics. Beyond that, what did it accomplish?” — Tim Graham

In the wake of 911,we as citizens of this country have often had to worry wheather or not our rights will be violated today, tommorrow, ect.wheather its the monitoring and eavesdropping on phone conversations,or just simply checking a citizens handbag,or pocketbook. We as citizens of this country shouldn't be subject to acts which violate our social
wellbeing, our movements, and most of all our rights to exorcise
any and all rights of the U.S. constitution. While most politicians
argue the ligitimacy of the war in Iraq, and the violations of human rights to the people of that country;no one has yet to argue the violations of civil rights for the citizens of this country....I'm sure that we can all agree that our elected officials
should be instrumental in being our voice in this matter from the Head of the House down to the Head of City Council, our voices need to be heard;lift every voice and sing.

Note:
Don't affend anyone else because of their individual question(s) because it is their question not yours. If you don't like those question or questions, you could just give an automatic thumbs down.
