most democrats said, about the pork ridden bill passed, that "if they (lawmakers) cared about getting the troops home, they would vote for it anyways, disregarding the pork".

In other words, it doesn't matter what else they slip into the bill, They think it is such a good bill, that it should be passed regardless of non-issues in it.

----
I think this would get more votes from the minority congress:

Same bill, with timetable (which I disagree with), none of the spending pork, however. Additionally, all democrat congresspersons, who were elected or reelected in 2006, will step down from office, and may ever run for a political office again. 1Billion dollars goes to author of this bill (nicolasraage).

Would your democrat congresspeople support that, "because it is a good bill", and the other stuff doesn't matter? Would you support it?

Or are you a hypocrite, who actually realizes that putting things into a bill that have nothing to do with it actually matters?

I agree that they are not the only ones that do it. However, they ran on promises to end it (as it should be ended), and are ignoring that, along with many, promises.

sorry, I will not be allowing bipartisan amendments to this bill. I hope you noticed, also, that I have saved 20 billion dollars compared to the previous bill.

No, I think it would be better to be a hypocrite and complain about "trolls" and then report anyone who disagreed with me, in an attempt to get their account turned off.

Don't you think that would be a more ethical and Republican way to behave?

Your idea is that every democrat should resign because they don't agree with the war.

So if you don't support the war, first off keep your mouth shut, and second if the opposition party can not support the president, they should no longer exist. You want the united states to be a one party state? Sort of a fascist idea.

news flash!

Dem's aren't the only people that put crap into a bill and don't read the whole thing!

people from both parties hardly ever actually read the bill they are voting on...

I've actually seen representatives from both sides play the button switching game...they alternate between green and red until the time runs out and whichever vote it happens to be on is the vote that they put in....(red-nay, green-aye)

Sure, if a rider can be put in that all republicans who voted for the Iraqi War also had to step down.

Face it, many Americans think Iraq was a mistake. They held the Republicans responsible for it in 2006 and you don't like it.

Fine. But that is the way it is.

It depends on which Democrats you talk to. They are so fractured. I laugh at their inability to get things done.

The liberals want to defund the war, but do not have the spine to vote for it.

I think you have hit the central problem with our Congress. They spend a lot of time putting baloney into Bills that have nothing to do with it.

Line item Veto.....it was good enough for Jefferson Davis...it ought to be good enough for a US President.

Why is this addressed to Liberals? The War is neither a liberal nor conservative issue.
