What you have here is alot of peolple supporting their own countries. But the fact is you should look up on the special forces of the worlds history and you will see the SAS has been around the longest since 1941 (they were around before that and werent called the SAS) the SAS were the first special foces unit to combat with counter- terrorism and have been doing it longer also. Other Goverments know this thats why the U.S got them to train their SEAL's but as there selection was to easy every dick and harry joined so they called the SAS back to train Delta Force (if you dont belive check their history), they've also trained the Brazillian Army and many middle eastern states armies in the 60's-70's and African countries also and for Israel they send most of their Officers in Sandhurst Military Academy. (All this information is available to the public so if anyone wants to dispute this let them do research first then get back to me).

Depends how "Special Forces" is regarded. If you include those who are taught skills like Mountain and Arctic Warfare, Paratroopers, sniping et al, then Britain, the US Israel and Germany (no particular order) are all good. If referring to covert Special Ops, then the SAS, SBS, Delta Force, Navy SeALs and Israel's Sayeret Matkal are definitely worth a mention. As for Russia's Spetznaz, or anything the Chinese may have, well I hope we never have to do a comparison in my sojourn on earth.

I would have to say the USA. We have the Navy Seals, Green Berats, Air Commandos, Rangers, and Marine Force Recon. We also have the best trained but if we were put up against the British, I'd say the British Secret Air Service (SAS) is probably one of the best in the world.

The SAS and SBS of the UK are the best.

I've read countless books about different countries special forces on training exercises and such and these two units are always coming out on top

There is no doubt about the answer to this question.
The broad consensus of opinion around the world is that the British SAS is the most revered. Additionally, many of the Special Forces in other Countries have been trained in SAS HQ in Hereford UK.

To those who have answered Israel, they are trained here too!
