I don't get it. Now it's out that Gonzales apparently "forgot" about the November meeting he attended discussing the firing of the attorneys, which he was at first sure that he knew nothing about. But despite getting caught in his lie, Bush is still supporting him???? What? After everything the Republicans have said about Clinton lying, I can't believe this!

Robot- first of all, I was being sarcastic about Gonzales "forgetting" the meeting. I'm sure he didn't forget it! Second, lying about government decision is worse than lying about sex. I could care less who anybody has sex with.

Even he doesn't stand by Gonzales he'll have to admit he was wrong in appointing him, and Bush can't admit he is wrong about anything.

because Bush is a dry drunk. he may not be swilling the bottle but the alcoholic's disease driven ability to deny responsibility, embrace hypocrisy and deflect blame remains. Gonzales lied to Congress but that doesn't matter to our King George. Gonzo is GW by proxy so MUST be shielded from the consequences of his actions at all cost.
and since GW is a lame duck with no upcoming election to worry about there are no real consequences for him and his corrupted admin anyway. they'll all go home to their mansions and gloatingly enjoy the many millions of blood soaked dollars they've accumulated over the 8 yrs they were in power. for them the war on Iraq has been a brilliant success.

Because Bush values loyalty above all else.

Gonzales was doing exactly what Bush wanted, whether Bush gave him the order directly or not. So, it only makes sense that Bush would support him for doing what Bush wanted.

Because federal prosecuters serve at the pleasure of the president. And forgetting about a meeting isn't a lie. Saying you didn't have sexual relations with a woman after she was giving you oral sex while you're on the phone in your office is a lie.

Who cares?????

Does it really matter? As he stated, he has over 100k people working under him. He has a busy schedule. Even if he were not being honest, what difference does it make?

I can prove nancy pelosi lied, as she promised to eliminate pork from bills. Should we put her on trial for perjury?

It doesn't matter, who, when, where, why, or how they were fired. They can be fired by any of the above!

Who cares? When Slick Willie fired 92 prosecutors,it wasn't even an issue.Congress needs to tackle some real issues and forsake this modern day witch hunt.

Alberto knows too much. His "retirement" will be more of the Vince Foster kind.

Bush, like Kobe Bryant, is the best of all time. He would win every election from to to eternity if he was allowed to run.
