Ok, ok, leave out your own personal emotional gunk. Try to be objective. Sure, kids can be cute, etc. But given that the average American's ecological footprint is almost 10 times that of the average African's. isn't having kids here really, really bad for the planet and thus all the other living people currently in it?

Everything I've ever read includes bias for one side or another. Perhaps an unbiased historical view is impossible. I may have to settle for an ALMOST unbiased view. Even that is hard to find. Any help out there?

Here is an example of my delemma in actual practice:
With my fellow Veterans for Peace, and a contingency of Iraq Veterans Against the War, I started out at the head of the Line of March….up Market street yesterday, just after noon. As a Vietnam Vet and a strong advocate for peace since my anti war activism with Vietnam Vets Against the War since the early Seventies, I had every right to be there. But I dropped out of the march after only two blocks. I dropped out when our contingency of vets were asked (by the A.N.S.W.E.R. organizers), to step to the side to make way for a new contingency at the head of the parade. “Fall in”, we were told, behind the banner and contingency screaming for an END to the OCCUPATION OF PALESTINE by ISRAEL. As it happens, I am a gentile, but that is where I dropped out of the Line of March. Nor am I an Israel apologist. I have serious complaints about the behavior and policies of the Government of Israel and their heavy-handed treatment of Palestinians in their legitimate struggle for equality, rights, and a State. But that is a WHOLE different, and vastly more complex issue, and it is certainly not the reason I came to march. On Sunday, I came to march for one cause and one cause only; that being to end the US occupation of Iraq and to stop the slaughter there. I’m not the only one to drop out. In earlier peace marches, I enjoyed great camaraderie with many of my Jewish friends. I couldn’t find them there. Before I returned to my home, I stood on the sideline and watch the entire parade go by. In earlier marches I was always moved by the contingency of grizzled old Survivor Jews carrying their blue flags with the white star of David and the traditional JEWS FOR PEACE signs. Some of them wore their sleeves rolled up so that on close inspection, one could still see their Nazi concentration camp numbers still tattooed to their wrinkled forearms. Perhaps they’ve all died out, or can no longer march in a parade for peace. Perhaps, like me, they have dropped out to make a point. Focus! First, end our illegal war against Iraq. Then work ceaselessly, for a just Roadmap to Peace in the entire middle east.

I thought they were supposed to pass good laws and vote on bills and budgets.

But now that Dems are in control, it will be one witch hunt after another.

That's fine with me, but when it's all said and done, and nothing has gotten accomplished except a lot of Liberal-like slander and accusations, will we look at this Congress and ask "what have you done for us lately?"

I wanted to start lifting and running hard before I leave for bootcamp and the thing is ill prob gain more muscle and basically more weight which might put me over. will they even measure my bodyfat or do I have to stay under??

My biggest thing is cardio which might make me lose but its doubtful.

I'm writing a human interest / position paper for my univeristy & I am looking for oppinions of other people that are not on campus & are random selection from the general population. This is not a homework assignment that I am looking for the easy way out! I am just looking for oppinions: "Should we ban cell phone use while driving...along with other multitasking?" This is a dangerous act & the fatalities can be reduced by enforcing the law. But cell phone use while driving is also good for emergencies. For facts & stats I am contacting the A.P.A, local police stations, accident reports from missouri, & a few other sources...but if you have any ideas please please let me know. Also, if u have an amazing answer i will contact you about possibly using u (correctly!) as a source in my paper! SO any real ideas & oppinions about the subject & any other sources would be amazing! None of your ideas will be used unless i contact u for permission and correct info!
Thanks-a-million guys!

States with concealed carry laws generally have less serious crime.
Cities with the strictest gun control laws are the murder capitals or our country.
The right for every citizen to own a gun is guarenteed by the Constitution and the only reason the past liberal Supreme Courts haven't tried to ban them is they know they will have a civil war on their hands.
The judges we have now wont enforce the gun laws we have and keep letting criminals back out to commit more crimes, how about that.

Just thought I would join the fun. Since conservatives like to blame Clinton for all of Bush's failings, I thought I'd point out once again that the worst foreign terror attack ever to happen on U.S. soil happened while Bush was President.

Take the heat, neocons.

Since Habeas Corpus is no longer important, and the govt. has the right to listen to any conversation without the proper procedure of the judicial branch. Heck they can even find out what library books you've been reading.

Which parts of the constitution do still feel are valid? Or do we just use the Soviet playbook from the Cold War and lock down our freedoms completely to keep us safe?

By the way, if you plan on answering with "What freedoms have YOU lost?" don't bother. Rights given up by any of our citizens are rights given up by us all.

It seems that it is the main source of income for so many.

Also, if you legalise it these people would no longer have to fear the law and the crime rate would drop because it would no longer be seen as a crime. Muggers would no longer feel ashamed but would be proud of their profession just like doctors, engineers etc...? That would bring communities together.

Muggers would mug other muggers as they are running away with their victims purse; it would be fun !

Does that make sense ? Would I make a good politician ?

This war is downright racist and prejudice! I have friends who are fighting or have fought in Iraq or Afghanistan and none of them came back with injuries or brain problems... Well with the exception of my step brother who had a ball bearing rip through his leg leaving a quarter size whole, but they gave him 30,000$, $20,000 a year for a four year college, free health care, and a desk job making $13.00/hour (a lot better than his pool cleaning job).

I'm in a military family and have many military friends here at school, in my hometown, and in my summer home town... My brother is the only one injured out of all of them, and most of them signed up after 2003.

Get off the couch... All your news sources are bull crap. If you wanna really play psychologically then by definition we all have some kind of mental illness either waiting to hit us, or is effecting us without our acknowledgement.

At work we are having a discussion about the motives behind being a cop.

Some of my coworkers are saying its because they TRULY like helping the people. Some of us are thinking its the power trip and having the upper hand that they like. I think it could be other things and a combination of both but I really can't just walk up to a cop and ask, it doesn't work well.

For those of you who are law enforcement officers:
Why did you choose that job/position?
What is your gender?

Thanks a bunches!
