The corps wants hard body types so there could never be a wrong thing to train and train hard. Muscles weight more than fat so if youre training hard you could gain some weigt but that nothing to worry about. If youre uncurtain what to do then see a recruter or anyone else that has the head in the corps and they will advice you. But a good advice is to train hard (like running 5 to 10 km every day plus excercices) and get used to very long days. Then you will be ahead of the gang in boot camp, Johan

You underweight? Although I was in the Air Force, when I went in I weighed 158lbs at 6ft 2inches of muscle. Before I went in I lifted weights 4 hours a day, 3 days a week, so I was very lean. I would think you were overweight if anything , or at least the top of weight for your height. I watched what I ate before I went in, but ate good, took protein powder, wheat germ capsule and one multivitamin. I got more energy than I knew what to do with. Did you mean you were almost overweight. Just keep doing what your doing and watch the fat grams.

I went in to the Marines at 195 with your same hieght, dude your fat but as soon as you get on the bus you start losing weight. Try your hardest like i did and you wont be put in to PCP. The question you should be asking your self is can you maintain that body after your out of boot camp? if you cant life will suck for you. think of it as a long term thing and for the love of christ to be a paper pusher leave the airforce for that

They do a body fat percentage on you as well as height and weight. If your a new enlistee with no prior service they have a minimum weight and maximum weight, if your below the minimum you will be placed on double rats in boot camp. I think you will be fine though, I am 5'8" and was 159 and I had no problem your two inches taller with 30 more pounds on your frame.
