Certainly, education ought to be among the highest priorities in the United States. The popular advocacy for the improvement of our education system has always been that 1) it is underfunded and 2) if it were better funded it would be more effective. However, no school district receives more federal dollars than the District of Columbia. But DC's schools are also among the worst, and the results within the city are clear. 1/3 function illiteracy in the city (source: http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8NVBUV81&show_article=1 ).

Is this evidence sufficient to justify looking beyond the "throw money at it" solutions that are so often advocated? What other changes should be made to improve the American public education system?

I know it's only a small minority of the country but, what justification can be used for such a position.

Since bush supports are such a small minority should they be granted special rights like Indians and Black people?

A US general today said Iraqi insurgents used children in a suicide attack this weekend, raising worries that the insurgency has adopted a new tactic to get through security checkpoints with bombs.

Major General Michael Barbero, deputy director for regional operations in the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, said adults in a vehicle with two children in the backseat were allowed through a Baghdad checkpoint. The adults then abandoned the vehicle and detonated it with the children still inside, he said.

"Children in the backseat lower suspicion, we let it move through," he said. "They parked the vehicle, the adults run out and detonate it with the children in the back."

"The brutality and ruthless nature of this enemy hasn't changed," Gen Barbero said.

The general called that incident a new tactic, but noted US forces had only seen one such occurrence involving children

My son is almost four and his father has been in and out since he was born. Last year we set up a verbal arrangement for my son to go to his father's house (lives with his mom) on tues and thurs from 4-8pm. His father kept flaking so I stopped the visits....it's been five weeks and no call from the dad whatsoever. His mother called me and asked me if I could reconsider...I haven't answered her yet. Seems to me my son's father is going through his mother and I don't like it.

Please tell me your opinons or suggestions on what to do. Thank you.

As I look around at the freedoms Americans have given up without much thought in the last few years, I have to wonder: are we poised, willing and ready to become a police state?

If arbitrary decisions by individuals in the law enforcement community can lead to your being spied upon, denied the right to travel, perhaps even being black-listed from gainful employment, and we are left with no meaningful appeal in the process... doesn't this strike you as an odd response to 9/11, which was conducted, it has been said by those very agencies who are eroding our rights, because 'they hate our freedom'...

This is a serious question, and I would ask you not to dismiss it, or respond with rancor.

I believe he is doing a perfect job. And with his leadership, he will help rise the power of the Air Force. In a few years thanks to him, it will be, "the Few, the Proud, the Air Force", not no sissy marines. Air Force will be the most best and bravest military branch. I can see it, all thanks to GENERAL OF THE US AIR FORCE MICHAEL HAYDEN.

If you remember Richard Clarks testimony that Bush asked the Whitehouse Staff in Feburary, "How do we get Saddam"

The WTC attack must have been Bush's every dream come true. In a matter of days Bush sent his minions around the world saying Saddam bought NUUCooler material from Africa.

How many times did Rice say WMD's??? I heard a report that Lexes Nexus has over 6000 hits of her saying WMD's before the war.

But now that she has come forward about questioning the 9/11 story, there is a media blackout!

Imagine that

Do you people still think that the media is Liberal controlled?

I don't think so!

When she talked trash about Donald Trump, it was a 3 week long press field day.

Every time Rosie burped or farted, the media was right there to get the big story.

So you have to ask yourself, why would they avoid a story as huge as this? Maybe because when Charlie Sheen did it, it produced hundreds of new 9/11 truthers.

A women like Rosie admitting she is now on the other side of the 9/11 road would be a major profile hit on Bush and his liars.

The Bush administration can't handle anymore people questioning 9/11!

This is proof positive that all media is propaganda and works to keep you in the dark, and we now know for a fact who controls it.

I am 16 years old and I am very into politics. I often find myself getting into heated conversations with adults about different matters in our country and in our world, however I often get shot down due to my age and obvious lack of knowledge about the war and our polititcal system in the United States.

I was wondering if there is a magazine I could subscribe to or a newspaper that is dedicated to politics so that I may get a better understanding of how our country works and who all of the important politicians are in our country.

please help me out.

thanks.
