It seems that America the from top to the bottom has decided that violence is a more legitimate way to settle social problems in America now than in the last ten years. You can not dismiss a connection between the War in Iraq and the Violence on the home front. Can you?
One way to measure this phenominon is to check and see if violence increased during the last major war envolving America, Vietnam. If I remember correctly, it did, significantly increase.

I've heard that Clinton asked everyone to resign when he came in, and that it's a common practice - but I think the current scandal is along the lines that Bush got rid of everyone when he first came into office, and then again let some go when they wouldn't do what he wanted politically. However, a key differentiator is if he got rid of everyone in 2001, or kept them around and just decided to get rid of them later. Please provide a reliable source along with the answer - thanks!

It's not like there were only Decocrats protesting. If you believe there were no Republicans protesting then you are clearly misguided by mainstream media.

Imagine a scenario in which a pregnant woman, in her first trimester, is shot in the stomach by a gunman and the “not yet human” fetus dies as a result. Is it murder?

If so, then isn’t abortion also murder?

If not, then can a father abort his unborn fetus without the mother’s consent?

The Belmont CA code bans chewing tobacco or smokeless tobacco. Why did they ban it if the use does not create second hand smoke and no danger to the public?does this prove discrimination against people that use a legal product? And if they argue health care cost then we have to ban immigrants who sneak into the country and use the health care system.

I have a real problem with women who choose abortion when raising a child would be "inconvenient".

However, if it is the woman's right to choose, as many proclaim, then what about child support? When does the father get a choice? It appears to me that a woman can choose to abort her unborn child without the father's knowledge or consent, or she can choose to have the baby and make the father pay child support for the next 18+ years. When does dad get the right to choose?

I know the basis of what a filibuster is but how far can you take its rhetorical nonsense? You can go off for hours on end and can stray from the subject by almost any means but is that it? Can you start speaking another language? Can you make animal noises and describe what it was like on Uncle Joe’s farm? Do your words even have to be put together in a coherent fashion to make sense or can you just go RAWRRRRRR, GRRRRR, LALALA, BLABLA, DADADA and make any noise you want while you are up there. I know it would not be good for any politicians career to take it that far but I am just curious. Thanks. --- Jeff

I recently had an intense discussion with an Iraq combat veteran, which quickly digressed into a lament over how Americans no longer realize that they need to "earn their freedom." I was struck at how vague this concept is, and I couldn't come up with a reasonable way to decide when someone had or hadn't earned their freedom. If restricted to a simplistic "you must serve in the military" answer, you still have to consider people who spend time cleaning runways or cooking, who never see a battlefield. And what about women, who weren't allowed to serve in the military not so long ago. Did my grandmother not earn her freedom by supporting my grandfather, who fought with the Air Force in WW2? What about people who are not capable of serving in the military? What alternatives do they have to "earn their freedom"?

Is this just a pretty little phrase used to foster a fighting, civic spirit, or does it pose a real question to each and every citizen, to answer in their own way?

Here's the situation. You have a new job, and an off-duty police officer, who your employer is familiar with but aren't personally friends, walks in as a customer, and talks to your employer about past traffic violations or other legal problems with you to your boss while your boss is working, with the aim of incriminating you and your new job. Is this legal? Would this be considered a violation of your privacy by a police officer?

I'd love to be a cop, but they just don't pay enough. So I was thinking about joining the force so I could go through the academy for the fun of it. I can't think of anything they could do to me if I quit after graduation. Am I missing something?

God bless America!

I've seen so many people voice their opinions about abortion in people's questions. "Don't do it" "Don't kill the baby" "I don't care if you're 16, keep it!". And there are others that vocalize for the pro-choice side of the argument.

So tell everyone right here how you feel about abortion. Are you pro-choice or pro-life? Personally I'm pro-choice. I think women deserve the right to choose. Its our body, let us decide.

Please no self-righteous, religious zealot, preach fests.
