In general all types of peer pressure are the problems that face today's youth. If fact if you stay away from three things in life there is a 93% chance you will never live in poverty or end up prison. Those three things are
1) Never drop out of high school
2) Never get involved with drugs
3) Do not have a kid outside of wed lock or under the age of 25.

An article similar to what I have said stated above is posted below hope this helps. --- Jeff

Well, the rise in the murder rate across the United States in both the rural and City environments are signs of increasing division and friction in the American society that impact all the people including the young.
The War in Iraq is a hazard and a death trap for many young people today.
Air pollution is impacting the young like never before, and the lack of effective and universal education and health care in America is also a major problem.
The inequality of income has become a major obstacle to harmony and health in America that can not help the young people.
Those youngsters who are born into the lower middle class and the poorer classes of people have very poor outlooks for employment and opportunity in general.

I am 56. Technology is changing at light speed and continuing to speed up. Young people have no idea how radically things have changed in the last 50 years, it isn't like the 50 years before that. My opinion is that young people are being more and more isolated from each other by so much technology, ipods, and all kinds of things. Always on the cell phone, heck , people used to talk to their neighbors until the electric garage door opener was invented, then they didn't know their neighbors and I fear the world is cycling in this direction to the point it is a selfish society and it is each man for himself. THat is no way to live, but if think so, go ahead and enjoy yourself. I'm glad I'm old, I wouldn't want to have teenagers who because of technology, will be smarter than their parents and can get away with anything they want. GEneration gaps will be counted in months, not in 20 year spans.

The problems of youth today in the promotion of negative propagada of criminality in the media as in films and music that promote violence and drugs that create killers in society .I was forced to hate but i fought them off to see the real world and what it is to live in it .Men women and childern need to be brought up in a world free of the threat that there lives are in danger.American shooting in schools where the promotion of the machine gun to be seen as strength which is not .As these weapons need to be licenced in america in way that childern who watch film will death cannot place there hands on.If America is to get better in way that provides true security for the people which restrictions that create tentions in the community which allows america to play in the streets again without fear . Has america Become a vietnam in there own country fighting each other instead of becoming enriched with the thought of being free.

Lack of consistent parenting. Not to say that it's the parents fault but we live in a society that forces both parents to work to support their family. And that's if you are lucky enough to have most parents. It seems like anymore most children are growing up without a consistent adult role model. Teachers come and go and parents are too busy trying to provide for the family that by the time they get home they are too tired to spend quality time with their children.

their own problems they create. they dont take education seriously, they mistake the acquisition of expensive things - cars, clothing & accessories, stuff like that - for mobility, and their lack of responsibility. these things will keep them from achieving success.
