each particular "earmark" in their own states?

Rather than debate the merits of a bridge or subsidy for a given district, why don't we ask why anyone in another state should be footing the bill?

Even if you can't reduce the federal government to the few roles it's actually supposed to serve, can you still reform the "earmark" practice so that it is at least put on the states clamoring for the pork rather than the country as a whole?

If we were evil, we would just level cities and countries. We have the capability to do so. U.S. is criticised now for civilian deaths, but if we were truly evil many more would be wiped out (cluster bombs, etc. etc.). This and the fact that we do have high tech capablilities to indeed wipe out large masses of civilian population is proof that we are neither weak nor evil. Why would our soldiers put their lives on the line every day when we could just wipe out terrorists, insurgents, etc. more easily by leveling the city? We could do it indiscriminately from 40,000 ft with no risk to our soldiers.

I recieved a threat in a hate letter from somebody and my first instinct is of course to tell. But the person who sent it is related and some one else is involved who I don't think should have to deal with that kind of trouble (they would probably at least get suspended from school). At the same time they shouldn't get to go off free, right?

First of all, calling the situation in Iraq a war is just political propoganda, because it's not technically a war. The insurgents aren't a legitimate resistance force because of the fact that most of their victims have been Iraqi civilians. Killing civilians with suicide bombers is not heroic, and has nothing to do with fighting for freedom. People who dwell on the reasons for invading Iraq to justify immediate withdrawal are missing the point. You don't just run away without first fixing what you started, just like if you break someone's window, running away rather than fixing or paying for it only makes it more wrong. Besides, Saddam was a mass murderer who deserved to go one way or another. If Stalin or Hitler had been removed using lies or "illegal" methods, why would anyone be complaining about it? No, I don't support the invasion of Iraq or Bush. But I can't stand all the liberals who act like enlightened saviors or who just want oppose it because they hate Bush.

I thought my child support was being paid from my workmans comp as they knew about it and how much it was. They did not and I have to go to friend of the court for a meeting know. I was laid off as soon as I was sent back to work and have almost no money. They are taking 98.80 out of 275 .00 that I get per week. I have no money to take to the meeting but have approx. 450.00 coming in tax returns that they will automatically take. I did not try to skip on my child support I was undr the impression it was figured into workmans comp. The checks were no itemized in any way and were approx. the same as what I got when i was working after taxes and Child support.

Forget the spin, the hidden taxes, the lords and sirs and butt kissing. The only 3 things that matter to a voter are

The interest rate: which affects are mortgages

The inflation rate: which affects are spending power

The unemployment figures: which affects us all

Considering Labour has a vastly superior average over 10 years on all these 3, compared to the 10 years the tories had previously. how can anyone be wanting a tory govt.?

And i know the health service etc is not as good as it could be, but it hasnt been upto proper standard for 20 or 30 years, not just the last 6 months.

Can anyone provide a link or some sort of proof? I've heard this used in anwers lately and wonder if its true. If he said this, I think he should be impeached for blasphemous speech. Thats like a christian reffering to the bible as "just a book". (I'm not a christian, but you get the idea.) Its the god damn basis for our country!

I was very used to being able to voice an opinion and have a discussion regarding news articles and in chat rooms I could debate the issues. Since the election, I must have my comments reviewed and approved, or the venue for discussion simply isn't there anymore. Conservative Republican opinons are not popular, if they ever were, but at least there was discussion and debate and both sides were heard, whether they agreed or not. I can't any longer defend the President...there is no place to do that. And I wonder why.

We already did what we wanted to do. There were no WMD's, so we don't have to worry about that threat. That objective is therefore completed.
Secondly, we took out that brutal dictator Saddam Hussein (which still doesn't mean much looking at Darfur), so that objective is completed.
It was not until after the capture of Saddam that we started working towards a democratic Iraq. This objective was planned from the start by the Bush administration but it was an adjunct objective which the American people never knew about from the beginning.
We already set up a democratic government. It's not our job to babysit them while they do nothing to help themselves. It's their job now. It's time to get out. The war is already won by the USA.
