Absolutely.
Socialmism is an economic (not political) model where most or all resource production and manufacturing is controlled by the governement. It can exist just as easily in anything from a pure democracy, to a democratic republic, to a tyranical or fascist totalitarian regime.
Democracy is a political model where the ultimate decision power rests with the masses. It may be a pure (polyarchal) democracy, or a democratic republic. And it can be combined with an economic model, from capitolism (private owned property) to socialism to communism (community owned property).

Yes it's possible but just the depend of what type of socialist form you are talking about. You see in a Democratic system you could use socialist ideas but in a socialist society it is very impossible for them to use democratic ways. They are afraid to lose their control of the people and that's the different. In Venezuela, Hugo Chavez is using the democratic system to gain total control of the government and citizens, once he have the control the government and citizens the democracy will disappear because is not to his benefit. In Ecuador is starting to happen the same thing, the dismantling of the democracy and then only a civil war will be needed to gain the citizens liberty again. Those people never learn, because they are the only ones to blame for their behavior and decisions. That 's the only reason that they are maintain uneducated and ignorant so they could do what ever they want with them. Then they blame the USA of their stupidities.

Democracy does NOT mean freedom, it means mob rule. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote" - Benjamin Franklin. Socialism is NOT equality, it is people being rewarded for sloth with money and services from the government, which gets its money from those who actually work. It's oppressive at the very least and slavery of the working class at worst. The two can exist together, but both are the death of true Liberty.

There has been a good deal of debate and arguing and outright anger regarding just that question, in this country. Our country has gone to war to keep socialism and communism out of this country and we forgot to watch our own politicians. A free enterprise system works, and always has. When a country goes to socialism, it bankrupts itself morally and financially. So, no...I don't believe a country can be democratic and socialistic at once, for very long.

Yes. I think it is a natural fit. Look at some of the European countries where it works. Italy is my favourite.
