its too small to have voting rights. should guam have voting rights. should Los Angeles have its own voting rights its way bigger than DC.

If you want rights move down the street, into the state.

The Constitution allows for 2 Senators per state. Since D.C. is not a state they are not entitled to represntation in the Senate. However because our territories such as Guam, American Samoa etc. each have a representative in the House of Rep. you should have one too and you do. They can speak on the floor but do not have the right to vote on many issues. I think they should. Only one rep each that adds only a few seats to the House. D.c., Purerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, Virgin Islands. That would only be 5 more seats.

Absolutely.

The House was discussing and voting on this issue last month, but I assume it failed, as you still have taxation without representation. They were only going to give you one, and she was still going to have limited voting rights, but it would have been a nice start.

It's unfortunate, since the population of D.C. would actually require about 3 or 4 Reps (I think), and that's a lot of people without a vote in Congress. But if they aren't going to give you representation, could you try to declare statehood? If there's no law against it, you'd be able to get representation that way.

DC is not even the size of a small city, and you think it should have the equivalent weight of a State? Get real.

DC should be adopted by Virginia or Maryland for representation in Federal matters.

Ever heard the word "Federal City?" Yeah, we really need DC as a state. Just like we need another Norton and a Cocain Nosed Mayor!

Support it? Hell no and I was born there 65 years ago!
