Hi, I'm 16 years old and in high school. In late october of 2006 i was caught with 3 tablets of ecstasy in the school. i was arrested and went before a judge. i agreed to waive my right to a speedy trial and they delayed my trial until i turn 17, and if i stay out of trouble until then, the charges go away.

the reason i'm looking for advise is that a couple days ago i learned that the school had contacted several of my friends' parents and told them that i was selling ecstasy in the school. now i'm finding out that parents of people i don't even know have been contacted by the school. bear in mind that i have not been convicted of anything, and there is no proof that i was ever selling anything. Plus i'm a minor and my record is not supposed to be public info.

do i have grounds to sue the school? it seems like since i'm a minor, nothing i do should become public knowlege like this.

thanks for your help

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - More than 1,000 U.S. and Iraqi troops met no resistance on Sunday when they searched homes for illegal weapons and carried out patrols in a Shi'ite militia bastion in Baghdad. U.S. military statement said 600 American and 550 Iraqi security forces backed by American Stryker armored vehicles took part in the operation. It said no one was detained nor any weapons caches found. There was no violence.
al Sadr, a key supporter of Shi'ite Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, has criticized the crackdown and said it will fail as long as U.S. forces are involved.

Well, duh, al-Maliki knew where the Iraqi/American forces were headed. Did we think he wouldn't warn al Sadr? In fact there are Iraqi troops who are also prepared to protect their own. The US is determined to show force regarding this "surge" together with Iraqi troops. But the troops will know ahead of time where the next "surge" will be.
This is all show.

Don't get me wrong, it seems right to punish people for crime.

But no-one is perfect.

Why do people always backtrack & lie when it comes their time to do the time for their crime?

What I mean is, I have seen police officers who are doing illegal things, but they go out to arrest "criminals" even while they do just as wrong or perhaps even worse.

I have actually seen a few po-po doing worse! What gives? I am not here to condemn people, but how can they be so hypocritical?

Can they really serve punishment to others being they are in the wrong as well?

Why is it always "right" to do the crime, do the time..., unless they are the ones having to serve for their crime?

This does not seem right to me.

This would take away their power to strike and standardize the learning envioronment. Use the current pay structure(s) to continue funding the schools.

I'm not a big gov supporter but will do whatever it takes to repair the public school crisis.

Your thoughts and suggestions please.

You people who are against the Death Penalty are truely unbelievable!

-Where's the "vengance" in it?
-Where's the "unfairness" in it? Don't you understand that people like O.J can AFFORD top-of-the-line lawyers?
-Why should we give a rat's a$$ about the criminals family? What about the victims family?
-How are criminals and the government on the same level as eachother when it comes to "who has the right to kill"? Why shouldn't the government be allowed to kill haneous murders when they are an authority established by God to keep order and administer justice? It's like Jesus said: "Give to Caesars what is Caesars, and give to God what is God's." GOD ALLOWS GOVERNMENT TO KILL! PERIOD!
-Why does it matter if the death penalty is a deterant or not? THE PUNISHMENT SHOULD FIT THE CRIME!
-And finally, why should we effin care if only 120 people out of the thousands put on death row are innocent? WE'RE HUMANS! WE MAKE MISTAKES! TO BAD!!!

The Bush administration announced in 2005 that the U.S. government will not hand over control of the Internet to any other organization, a surprise move that could presage an international flap.

At the moment, the U.S. government maintains control of the Internet's "root"--the master file that lists what top-level domains are authorized--but has indicated in the past that it would transfer that responsibility to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or ICANN.

The new principles, outlined by Assistant Commerce Secretary Michael Gallagher, say the U.S. government will "maintain its historic role in authorizing changes or modifications to the authoritative root zone file." In addition, the principles say, the U.S. government will continue to maintain "oversight" of ICANN and prevent its "focus" from straying from technical coordination.
