The responsibility of holding onto your own property rests with you in that you should not lend anything to someone you can't really trust. Once the deed has been done there is no real honest and legal way of getting something back unless it has to do with a big sum of money and then you take the borrower to court, but even then and in that case you would need a contract. Sorry to say but your paintballs are gone for good. The choice of being friends or not with that person is up to you, but you can't get the paintballs back cause even if you enter onto his property you would be illegal in doing so. Put it in the past, and don't lend your stuff anymore. It's a hard lesson for you, but it's good you learned it early on in life.

Your enemy? Are you 12?

If someone actually owes you something and you can prove it take them to small claims court. You cannot use lawyer in small claims so you do not need to incur any large costs.
