You may know Suzuki and Stelmach have had a war of words on the enviroment & climate change.

Pulled from the Calgary Herald & Edmonton Journal, February 24 & 25--

SUZUKI: "If your premier thinks he's worried about the future -- and he doesn't realize not doing anything about greenhouse gases is going to wreck the economy -- then he doesn't deserve to be a leader."

STELMACH: "The issue of greenhouse-gas reduction will require more than hot air and grandstanding. It requires recognition that C02 reductions will require sacrifice on behalf of all Canadians in reducing individual energy consumption. Mr. Suzuki's comments reflect the unproductive emotional rhetoric and personal attacks that distract from efforts to find constructive solutions."

why do people like Ralph Nader think the Consumer (King) needs someone to "advocate" for them?

People are perfectly capable of deciding where to spend their money without the likes of Nader (a self-styled "consumer advocate").

Who else thinks Y/A Beachbum is an idealistic idiot? Hmm... will this question be deleted right away? Is Y/A biased? Or is it our duty to question those at the top of the list to be held to accountabiltity as our elected officials are?

hi i got pulled over this evening 9:15pm because i failed to give way to a cop who had right of way. i was travelling south to north and stopped at the stop sign. however, i failed to see that the east-west had no stop sign. it was a very dark intersection and initially i thought the coast was clear. to make matters harder, the cop was driving very slowly without lights from west to east. by the time i saw him, i was already in the middle of the road and had to cross the intersection. true i failed to give the cop right of way, but it was dark and he was using predatory tactics by driving very slowly without headlights. my girlfriend was with me and she too remembers that the cop was driving without headlights. he only turned them on when he pulled me over. can i contest this and would i win?

One of my friends [i swear it's not me] is having alot of trouble with her parents. She's 17 and will be turning 18 this September. She's still in school and everything. This isn't a case of teenage rebellion. Me [and several other people] are just really worried about her.
I just wanted to know how old she would have to be to move out of her parents house [and most likely into mine] without her parents being able to tell her no and legally keep her there. Would my parents get custody of her?
If you can give me any sort of answer, or a place to find an answer... please...
thanks.

I mean government should b able to help people out. With all the infighting, they never get anything done.

Will they one day be able to cooperate?

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki had promised to get the measure passed by the end of 2006, but negotiations, primarily between Kurds and Shiite leaders, have stalled several times. The Kurds want to make sure they have enough oversight over the oil industry in their region and have expressed concern about the impact the legislation might have on contracts they have signed with foreign companies that recently began working in the relatively safe region.
