Well, he is a head of state isn't he?. He is the president of Iran. Any president can go on state visits to any country. It's part of their job. Probaby he is trying to solocit these countries' support for Iran in its nuclear ambitions, diplomatic support in case Iran and the U.S. will be involved in a military conflict, the current situation in Iraq where both the Saudis and Iran have their own strategic interests, etc.. He might even be encouraging these countries to switch to the Euro for their oil revenues and dump the Dollar. Anything is possible and open for discussion.

Ahmadinejad even went to the United States last September 2006 to attend the United Nations General Assembly session in New York (exactly the same session where Hugo Chavez made his controversial remark about Bush). Bush himself made a speech in the same session the day before. Ahmadinejad made his speech as well in the same session.
