One of my dogs is currently at a private vet undergoing surgery for a very nasty cut to one of his hind legs, this cut was caused by walking on broken glass embedded in mud in an area that the Council road sweepers (three of them) recently picked up litter. I'm wondering if I could seek compensation from the Council to cover the vets fees? Nothing else, just the cost of veterinary treatment. The cost is £263 (of which £83 was just for the consultation fee as it was after surgery hours when we went to the vet). Would I be wasting my time to go ahead with trying to get compensation just for the cost of treatment?

..not to mention untold tens of thousands injured....The human cost has been astronomical. Not to mention over 3,100 US casualties. Iraq is a field of carrion.
But I'm wondering. It's rather diffcult to accept that we here in the U.S. care much about Iraqi loss of life. After all, war brings death, mostly to innocents. Collaterals. Wrong place. Wrong time.
ANd so, do we Americans really care? If the figure reached over a million, would we care then?

Neo-conseravatism does not believe in having a small government, does not make efforts to increase border security, and is not fiscally responsible.
Liberalism is something which is meant to support minority rights and the people in need, and conservatives hate supporting Americans in need because it resembles "socialism".
So they don't know what to choose, right? I know many true conservatives who are disgusted with the Bush administration, because the Bush administration are clearly a bunch of traitors to traditional conservatism.

Please help me identify the TORTS in this story. [TORTexample: assault, battery...etc.]

What torts are caused by: Carol, Art, Barb and Dave.

During Barb's Backyard BBQ, she grills steaks for her friends in her backyard. The grill SMOKE DRIFTS INTO her neighbor's(Carol) backyard and IRRITATES her eyes and CAUSES her to COUGH. Carol asks Barb to turn off the grill but Barb ignores her and tells her friends CAROL IS A PROSTITUTE.

Art decides to leave around 10pm because DAVE has been drinking too much and seems hostile. Dave lifts a glass and tries to throw it at Art. Ed witnesses this and tackles Dave right after he THROWS the bottle. Art ducked the bottle and the bottle hits BARB in the head.

Dave chases Art into the bathroom(with no windows to escape) and pushes him into the bathroom. Dave wedges a chair under the doorknob to trap him in then leaves the party. Art doesn't exit the bathroom until another person later removes the chair and releases him several minutes later.

I ask this because considering the vast natural resources it has, I wonder if Africa had gone through stone age-iron age-industrial revolution on its own pace without so much interference wouldn't it have been one of the richest continents.Be HONEST and critical please!

First, most americans are angry at Bush for doing what they would call, a bad job. Bush didn't have much political experience.. maybe that could be the reason he isn't doing that good of a job. And now, these same people, want Obama to run who has only been senator for 2 years, and has worked on 0 bills. Yes, this man, when the 08 presidential election rolls around, will have less experience than what Bush had, yet so many want him to run. WTF is up some Americans these days?

The conservative consensus is that things like evolution and global warming are liberal myths used to justify certain policies and beliefs. As a consequence, it seems like many conservatives tend to distrust scientists because they assume that they have a liberal agenda. I'm not sure if this is true, although I tend to believe it myself. The more interesting question would if it is true, than why do more liberals choose science as a career?

I enjoy this yahoo service and I enjoy hearing from so many interesting people. However, I have noticed a lot of misinformation about socialism flying around.

The more I hear these inflamitory remarks, the more I grow concerned about who you people are and how you percieve the rest of the world!

How could anyone except greedy people, not support universal healthcare? Do you always look to extreme examples to form your opinions? What about the Norse countries in Europe? Their left wing politics have lead to peaceful and richly cultural social climates.

Democratic socialism has served many countries very well as a compassionate wholistic voice in the race for the almighty dollar.

How rich does a person have to be? How poor is too poor?Isn't somewhere in the middle a good place to be?

It's a truly stupid point. You're going to ask me to fight a war I opposed before it started? Or say the Dems voted for it?( Some did under the threat of being slandered as unpartriotic.)
The policies of the Republicans got us into this war. Now you need help. What's the matter? Bite off more than you could chew? If you hadn't been so arrogant and listened to the people around you, a lot going on there was foreseeable. Try watching "3 Kings" sometimes. The paralles are frighteningly funny
