I am sure if they actually "saw" someone driving and using the cell phone, they would get pulled over~ just too many out there using cell phones while driving to catch them all ~ The people know they are breaking the law, they simply do not care and know the odds are they won't get caught~

We all ask ourselves that same question every time we get behind one of the criminals!
When are they going to enforce the disability parking that is violated every day by inconsiderate people?
I sent a letter outlining some ways of policing the program on a much better basis only to have the "government" tell me they are on top of it all! What kind of a sick joke is that?
All government needs to do is have four different color 90 day temporary permits and license plates for permanent disability! All of course, issued by Department of motor vehicles. When a temporary is given out, motor vehicles has all the info. When the time is up, if your doctor did not renew and you get the next sequenced color, it must be returned or your license and registration are suspended! How difficult is that? You don't even have to have the doctor's policing the program that they so adamantly refuse to do! Police patrols can drive through shopping centers and where ever and only have to recognize two colors or a license plate! How difficult is that?
Just government NOT doing the job they are paid for!

I believe there is an awareness now of how dangerous cell phones are and that many states are getting ready to pass laws.

I actually have been behind people that are on a phone, weaving and completely distracted. I saw a guy hit the car in front of him while it was stopped at a light. He was on the phone and looked around like duhhhhh.

As long as it's hands free, there is no law against using cell phones while driving.

I think CA already has.

Personally, I would rather have the states crack down on people who use cells while in the gym.

What about bluetooth? I agree we sould not be able to drive while talking on a cell and in some states it's already illegal. I think having bluetooth or an intercom are okay. Sometimes, you may need directions or you may work from your vehicle and it can't be avoided.

We have a few city ordinances that are cutting down on it now. However, it's simply not enough. Before I feared senior citizens drivers. Now I fear the cell phone drivers!
