Mass is a blue state. Oklahoma is a red state. Blue staters have better educations better careers and wait longer before getting married. They are not having shotgun weddings at 17 because their families religous beliefs prohibit abortion.

A state's divorce rate has probably more to do with it's divorce laws than with a state's "political color". Longer waiting periods and mandatory counseling both correlate strongly, but not perfectly, with lower divorce rates. Now, let's compare MA and OK. Both states don't have any minimum waiting period, but MA does have a mandatory counseling law. Both MA (2.4; 2nd lowest) and OK (3.4; 15th) are below the national divorce rate (4.0). Maybe, through counseling, that 1.0 difference in MA are able to work it out.

i'd prefer to comprehend the proportion of atheists that get married vs the proportion of Christians. i'm keen to wager the divorce fee is decrease because of the fact in basic terms the main committed atheists get married, mutually as Christians are lots extra in all probability to get married swifter and extra often.

Oklahoma is an anti-woman, anti- child support state. So loser husbands and fathers dump their wives and kids there.

Pretending to be a Christian family state is a cover up for the truth.

Well, in the fine State of Massachusetts - home of Ted Kennedy and John Kerry - they drown their wives and girlfriends or divorce them in another state.
The other option is to stay married and just have affairs. That's the liberal way isn't it deary?

I am a Liberal but I cannot defend you. Divorce is like abortion: Nobody agrees with it but you can't ban it. SORRY!!!! Point taken. I've had a glass of wine or two!!!! lol

You need to be married to get a divorce. Most liberals are not married.

Mass has a lot of Catholics. I was raised Catholic. That was like a big no-no.

My guess is that it has more to do with religion than with political views.
