I am a uk citizen planning a visit to the usa and I may decide to move there. Where can I go for help

It depends on the visa you applied for. Immigrant visas are for people who want to live and work in the country. Nonimmigrant visas are for people who come here for a specific period of time and then plan to return to their home country.

You will receive a visa that will say that you can stay 6 months, however, US immigration will decide for how long you can stay.

My husband had a visa, but once he came to the border, they restricted his stay. We had to apply to extend it.
