I don't understand why the media is even talking about the next presidential campaign. its like two years away, why cant these senators like Hillary, Obama, and all the rest just do the job they were elected for?

I think that part of the reason that the next presidential election is such big news is because Bush is a lame duck president right now. Not much can or will be done (by the government) until the next election. I understand your displeasure with the senators you mentioned though.

However, they were elected to represent the people today and throughout their term. Campaigning and missing votes is not doing your job. I think we should make campaigning by currently elected officials illegal. Their records should stand on their own. I also don't think government employees at any level should be allowed to vote. To allow them to vote is self-serving.

They are doing their job trying as hard as they can to get our troops home, those of them that are left. Sure their a few that are trying to get those no do nothing Republicans out of office, I'm all for that in every way. We have already got the Senate and house and we want the White House back so we can live right not like dogs that are pitched a few bones and expected to roll over and bark.,

Do you get to apply for a new job while you are being paid to do your current one. I sure do not. Yet they have been doing this for years, and this time they started 18 months early. Why should we be paying them for not doing their jobs?

They are. They realize that the competition is tough & they need to start early & work extra hard. Fortunately, they have large staffs to help them with their responsibilities.
