The story:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070223/ap_on_re_us/airport_x_ray_screening

The part tagged as utter lie:

"It's 100 percent voluntary, so if the passenger doesn't feel comfortable with it the passenger doesn't have to go through it," Melendez said.

Melendez declined to discuss the
TSA's method for determining which passengers are selected for secondary screening.

| I mean, when have you been able to opt out of any TSA procedure?

Do you think we should let presidents stay in as long as they can be re-elected.. but have elections every 2 years? or maybe a 10 year cap with that cycle? or keep it as it is? ... just looking for thoughts :)

obviously to accept this question as valid you have to assume the nation is off track.. so if you do not agree with that then there is no need to answer. now, moving on.. Bush may have some moderate stances.. but for the most part he has appealed to the religious right... in the next election, what do you think would be the best vote to get the nation running well again.. a moderate or a far left to balance out the last 8 years? I'd say a moderate would work best.. how about you?

Why is that Reserve Police are not concidered police? Some are allowed to be armed and some not (different cities), but they wear almost the same uniform and can be mistaken for a "real" cop and do almost everything the police do, Even take courses to become a Reserve, take the same risks, but yet some cities do not "allow" them to carry weapons while on duty.
It doesnt make sense to dress and act like a cop, take the mandatory courses in law and firearms, drive a patrol car, serve supoenas, and assist the "real" police and not be allowed to defend yourself if need be.

I was wondering what people thought about this and what I should do, if anything, about it.

I work for a small business. Literally. There is only me and the boss now, with the occasional 18 year old girl that comes in to help a few days a week. He is very vulgar and makes a lot of sexual comments, he said something to the 18 year old girl the other day, "well come on brittany, I'd rather be sued for sexual harassment than be ignored." And he wasn't even saying it to me and I felt uncomfortable.
Throughout the course of my employment here (7 months) I have had paychecks bounce, so now I go and get them cashed. The problem is, there have been at least 8 or 9 times when I cannot get them cashed due to insufficient funds. We have had our power turned off and our phone lines turned off because of it. All of our phone calls are on the basis of him not paying his bills.
I am in the process of almost having a better job, but I can't leave until I am positive.
What would you do?

As a 50% VA rated disabled veteran, I have applied to at least 10 different jobs posted for the local MEPS station here in Cleveland. On every occassion people who don't get the veterans preference are given the jobs. I had 6 years experience recruiting while I was on Active Duty, so I am more than qualified for the jobs that are being posted. My resume contains all of the "buzzwords" listed on the skills/qualifications page yet I don't even receive a call. I have less than 10 months until I receive my BS degree in Management, I have received straight A's so far, yet NO calls. Upon further review I have found out a couple of positions that were filled by people that weren't even posted on the OPM website. I have absolutely had it with the way I have been treated for the last year and I want someone to be accountable for their actions.

I was having a discussion, some may call it an argument, about how the economy is doing. I think it's not doing well. This other guy was saying how unemployment is virtually non-existent and NASDAQ is higher than ever, so the economy is doing really well. Is this true? Or is the economy not doing well? Please give me some details as to why the economy is doing good or bad. Thanks so much for you help!

Let me start off by saying I'm a democrat.. I don't claim to represent my party.. I claim that it represents me, and I represent myself... the other day I sent an email to a few prominent republican posters on here.. and they were both astounded that I didn't curse at them or name call ... and they were both very positive in their responses to me... that made me wonder who had actually been emailing them in the past to give them such a bad taste for liberals... for whoever it was obviously is not a true liberal..so the question is.. how many people on here actually represent their ideology... I feel we have a silent majority that do followed by a vocal minority that do not.. how about you? this applies to all parties, seeing as how I'm sure the distribution is equal

Seems to me Congress is trying to micro manage the war on terror. I love the spin media puts on EVERYTHING. OK, not really.

The precise wording of the Democrats' measure remains unsettled. One version would restrict American troops in Iraq to fighting the al-Qaida terrorist network, training Iraqi army and police forces, maintaining Iraq's territorial integrity and otherwise proceeding with the withdrawal of combat forces.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (news, bio, voting record), D-Nev., intends to present the proposal to fellow Democrats next week, and he is expected to try to add the measure to anti-terrorism legislation scheduled to be debated later this month. Officials who described the strategy spoke only on condition of anonymity, noting that rank-and-file senators had not yet been briefed on the details.

"These kinds of efforts have consequences," Fratto said Friday. He said that pulling troops out of Baghdad would result in chaos.

If so why was my question on the American military removed?
Is it because I don't agree with their belief of being the ultimate superpower? Or was it because it contradicted the US governments desire to furnish the US population with only their point of view? Is there freedom of information in the USA and does this interfere with the thoughts of the populous.

The terrorists at Gutanamo Bay are all guilty- If not, they wouldnt be there. They do NOT have the right to challenge their arrest, or demand trials. What they deserve is to rot in jail for life, or face execution. Liberals need to remember, these terrorst scum murdered 3000 Americans on 9/11, and they continue to shoot US soldiers. To suggest they should be allowed to challenge thier arrest, or sue the government would be alloting them power- it would be a threat to freedom. Personally, I think the terrorists at Guatnamo Bay should not be kept alive- all should be executed, so terrorists in Iraq will see what will happen to their kind- and the'll then be teeerified at the cery thohgt of attacking us again....If somehow a terrorist is able to get a lwyer to challenge his arrest, that laweyer should face arrest, and his firm closed down.
TERRORISTS HAVE NO RIGHTS
To give the rights such as so called 'due process' would be a threat to freedom.
How can moonbat liberals not see this
