A count is everytime someone is charge with a crime.
10 counts means he/she try to kill 10 people.

Each charge, or "count" is a separate crime being alleged by the charging entity, usually the District Attorney. A defendant is entitled to have every separate charge read and explained to him/her.

As the law states...it is one charge per attempt. In other words ten times attempting to kill the same person is 10 counts.
Ten times trying to kill various persons, 10 counts. 1 count per atttempt.

"Counts" refers to the amount of times. Attempt to kill someone 10 times....ten counts. Attempt to kill ten people, 10 counts.

Go to a bar...start a fight...punch the barmaid....the bouncer intervenes...punch the bouncer....one count breah of peace...two counts assault. Get it?

The counts do not have to necessarily happen in the same transaction.

Each count equals each law broken and the charge discribeing the law broken.
