If Ebonics can be a real language, I think Spanglish can too.

Spanglish is a mix of Spanish and English. Why are you unwilling to make a compromise? Its good for everybody.

My Mother, Great Grandparents and thousands upon thousands of people have immigrated to this country and learn our language. In fact, my Mother had to attend classes.

What makes the people from Mexico think we have to learn their language?

If you don't want to learn the native language of the country, DON'T MOVE TO IT!!!!

No, because it is divisive and is also not necessary. Language evolves entirely on its' own.
As to North American Union? ehhh not likely either. But hear me out...
English is a mixture of a whole bunch of languages, and already exists. It's a combination of several European languages such as Germanic and Latin languages. The future of English, if allowed to continue as it has, will include alot of Spanish, as it is already beginning to. It will still be called English, but will, for all intents and purposes, be as Spanglish as if you made it up and wrote it in a book today.
However, Spanglish is just a movie right now, and not a real language. It may be a dialect of English or Spanish, like Ebonics, but not a separate language.

You must be smoking too much opium because there's no such thing as the North American Union much less would any country make slang into their official language. We don't even have an official language in the USA, though obviously if you don't know English then you are likely going to be mowing my grass for the rest of your life. Ebonics works fine for all of the unemployed people in the ghetto, is that how the Spanglish crowd lives too?

Dude ..wrong again. Spanglish Sucks , in fact is the only thing that makes me mad whenever I hear it. Specially in Los Angeles alot of Mexican-Americans talk like this and just sounds stupid.I think that English is a more efficient language as far as making Sense so the answer will be NO!

I have learned English as a second language. But to consider talking spanglish is ridiculous because it is for ignorant people. You can know both English and Spanish. Why mix them? And for those of you who think it's because we don't want to learn English, don't be stupid you can't talk spanglish without knowing English. It's just a slang way for talking.

A dialect maybe but not a language.
What the heck is Spanglish or Ebonics?
Just dialects of the people that didn't wisely use their publicly funded education taught in just plain English in America.
I didn't sign off on Ebonics so don't expect me to support Spanglish either. If we encourage ignorance, it surely will breed more ignorance.

I like you being all proud about being mexican and not holding your tongue, but if you are so proud why not stick to mexico's official language, spanish? Why would you want english mixed in their? I'm mexican and i speak both languages and i dont have a need to mix them as one official language, by the way it won't happen so try as much as you want, it'll give you something to do..

In Canada they speak English (Quebec speaks French and English) In the USA 85% of the people speak English. So tell me why you think we should use Spanish if the SSP ever comes to fruition ? If we are going by majority then you lose. I speak English,French-Cajun,Spanish and Japanese (well I'm trying now for a year, its coming along pretty good )
Again tell me why we all should speak Spanish ? You would defiantly be in the minority .

He** NO! Ebonics is not a language either. Heck, Spanglish and Ebonics aren't lanuages at all, but rather dialects.

If they don't have to learn English, why should I be forced to learn their language? Spanglish? lmfao! Why are high school students forced to learn Spanish in school by it being a required course with no other foreign language options available in some school districts?

It's simple, remove all Spanish from everything that's here, road signs, menus, products sold in stores, my power bill, the list goes on. By printing their language on everything the incentive to learn English isn't there. We make it to easy for them, make them learn it if they really plan on staying here.

Learn the language, It's what Mexico would require from myself if I moved there.
