I think you can accomplish future bad governing with an educated public...one that truly understands the issues on the table, and where each party stands. Doesn't sound like a big task, does it? Well, in order to do that, we would have to eliminate the coverage of government in the media, as it is extremely partisan and rarely accurate. And we would have to eliminate both parties...and start again...so as to eliminate all the partisan bickering and hatred.

Everyone seems to want to hold the government responsible for their evil deeds and poor track record...but are people taking responsibility for their votes? And what about those who did not vote...are they taking any responsibility for their neglect?

The American public needs a massive overhaul...and then politics can be next!

If you want to get rid of all the bad apples, CHOP DOWN THE TREE!!! The plain fact is that all of our elected leaders on Capitol Hill are bad apples -- they really don't care about what's best for the country; all they care about is lining their pockets and staying in office. Violent overthrow is not the answer here. The best thing we can do is wait until 2012, when EVERYONE is up for re-election, and make sure that NO ONE who currently holds office in Congress or in the White House is re-elected. They all need to be replaced with people who have never served in an elected office before and who are willing to re-write our laws so all our elected leaders are held to a higher standard of ethics and law and accountability than the private citizens. Once we get leaders who clearly understand that they hold positions of public trust and are facing criminal charges for shady back-room deals we may actually get something accomplished in D.C.

Please help to establish a large, diverse, & representative ethical oversight committee for managing the National Security Agency (NSA)

The National Security Agency (NSA) by necessity currently collects information from ALL organizations without representative ethical oversight. This includes the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard, ALL Political Representatives, FEMA, Greenpeace, the Medical Community, Insurance Companies, Research Groups, domestic or abroad, ...

Unfortunately, special interest groups not representing All Americans currently have access to direct and use Confidential data collection; which affects everyone, not just the US. Imagine large corporations influencing the prosperity of businesses based upon racial criteria; the NSA makes this possible.

The NSA currently does not have a system (people and software) to parse the great amounts of information available to create prioritized situational awareness for the benefit of "representative ethical oversight". Imagine a corporation influencing all that is associated with a University research project, to force access, or force a sale of intellectual property at a significantly lower cost. Now expand the ability of this corporation to influence all businesses, everywhere.

Please support my initiative to establish a large and diverse representative ethical oversight committee for monitoring and managing the NSA.

One certainly must wonder...when this last Congress convened, at the opening meeting of the Black Caucus, a standing ovation was the reception that W.Jefferson recieved.
This is the Louisiana congressman that misused FEMA helicopters to check his stash during the Katrina rescue mission...subsequently he was charged with bribery and the FBI found $90,000 in cash hidden in his freezer.
Obviously the accolades his colleagues showered upon him give us an indication of just where their moral compass lie.
A pox on all their houses.

Overthrow them? Are we talking about a coup? One way to change leadership is to vote for somebody else. That's the most common way other than taking over and becoming a military dictator.

The only way is to educate the voters. The problem with that is the politicians control what we teach. Ot her countries try to teach everyone to think the same, but it could go wrong. Look at all the middle east.
Just do your best and encourage your friends to vote, unless they don't agree with you politically,

Vote out all incumbents at worst they are corrupt. At best they know who is corrupt and lack the courage to do anything about it.Fear of not being re -elected will straighten them out.Of course WE like our guy so they all stay.

You will never get rid of the "bad apples". Its simply your opinion that you're judging these "bad apples" with. Someone else may see these people in a completely different aspect. Another person may think that your "good apples" are really "bad" ones. Its all a matter of opinion, really.

It's called voting. Unfortunately, not enough people do it to make a difference.
