"The requests come in on a daily basis," said Monique Bond, spokesman for the Chicago Police Department. "It takes valuable resources off a street. Police really don't have time to escort a production crew or [let it] film our work."

The department's position, which some cynics attribute to a distaste of prying eyes, is a philosophical one, Bond said.

"Law enforcement is not entertainment, and crime is no joking matter," she said.
Which reason do you agree with and why?

why did it fall through itself, instead of falling over? Even if the beams were soft they would still offer some resistance, wouldn't they. I just can't understand how all the support columns could melt at exactly the same time.

The difference between meccan and medinan verses. One set of verses was written when muhammed was a minority, and lo and behold its filled with great stuff like respecting everyone and no compulsion in islam. then, when he was strong enough to take mecca forcefully, his verses started changing. instead of living peacefully and stuff, it turned to killing infidels and spreading the faith by the sword. since he has the power to force islam on people, he wasnt content to just tolerate others (IE the Jews of Khaybar who were visciously slaughtered and the women and children brought under slavery).
We can see this same pattern today. when muslims are a minority in a country, they talk about peace and tolerance (like america for the most part). but then, once a military power or numerical majority has been established (sudan, saudi), they start talking about killing the infidel. its a very well established pattern.

Adult websites make you agree to all these terms before you use them. I know it is against the law for underage kids to use them, but do they actually ever catch people or arrest underage kids?

why cant I have over 6 pets in my own home?
Why cant I park my car in my grass if theres no room in the driveway?
Why am I told how fast I can drive?
Why cant I buy beer on Sunday?
Why does every home owner in this town have to own a gun?
Why cant people under 18 be out after 11 pm?
I could go on!
What do you think about ou legal system and all these crazy laws? I dont kno why they say America is a free country when there are so many laws out there that violate American citizen's privacy and so many that have no purpose. Does anyone know the laws on a person pulling out a camera and taking pictures of you. I have an EX-Wife that will follow me around and take pictures of everything that I do with the kids. She has gone as far as to tell the kids that these are for the Judge, I consider this harrasment, stalking, and invasion of privacy. can anyone tell me if this is right or not

Even as a foreigner I do believe that America had and has a tradition of democracy, great leaders, thinkers and inventors etc. On the whole good people, I like to think, are the majority. How come they are not seeing and questioning the reasons and motives for the invasion and intervention by their government in many foreign countries? And the loss of their soldiers of all ages goes as unrepented except by the parents involved? Also nobody seems to care about the extreme financial losses suffered by the people and the enormous profits made by the armament producers.

Iraq/Mideast?

He is the one who caused the vaccum by invading Iraq. He talks to the American people like they are fools who don't know that he opened pandora's box in Iraq & he is the main reason that the US is stuck in such an impossible situation & he's trying to fix his mess by dumping 21,000 more troops into the middle of HIS mess. Does he think that the entire US population is high when he gives his press conferences?

I work alongside my husband sometimes, and he's hardly out of my sight. I have no reason not to trust him. But for a month or so, someone has been calling my new(of Aug 06) cell #. A girl starts off "can I speak to your husband? this is his gf", and then a guy comes in and might say the B word out loud. The girl also tells me he is cheating on me. I've asked his friends and co workers, and family and they act like I'm nuts. He also acts like he's not bothered by it or scared of anything. I'm careful not to give out my # but my ex bf who is in a frat knows it. They called anonymously (as they do) again tonight and he answered and they hung up. My ex has been known to email me for stupid crap and my friend and I used to prank call him to be stupid.. back in the day. Could it be him and his sorrority friends? Other than him no one but family know my #.
