Even as a foreigner I do believe that America had and has a tradition of democracy, great leaders, thinkers and inventors etc. On the whole good people, I like to think, are the majority. How come they are not seeing and questioning the reasons and motives for the invasion and intervention by their government in many foreign countries? And the loss of their soldiers of all ages goes as unrepented except by the parents involved? Also nobody seems to care about the extreme financial losses suffered by the people and the enormous profits made by the armament producers.

Many Americans are finally waking up to this. And, many of us on the left opposed the war for the very reasons you mentioned as well as knowing that the president and his administration were lying.
But, There is one paradox to the American culture and to the American people that you will see if you stay here long enough. And that is, they have very short memories and that contributes to their lack of empathy. Despite the fact that Americans think they are very giving, they have this huge perception block that doesn't allow them to think beyond the borders of their own lives and empathize with people suffering at the hands of our government. They simply cannot perceive someone's life being treated so horribly with their tax dollars. There is a huge huge disconnect in these regards.

Some believe in the reasons, some don't, some are not sure. but there are ALOT of people paying attention.

Poor people with a handful of armament producers making enormous profits well yea... thats nothing new at all my friend.
And its certainly not exclusive to the USA.

To understand that there is something wrong, the voters need some intelligence in order to question and answer your questions. Unfortunately many people that vote for Bush don't have the prerequisite intelligence.
