Thats the irony in it. democracy isnt free. you could buy a plot of land, want to build a golf course on it, and have some city council vote you down for approriations.

You foolish person America isn't free. Of course I'm glad it's like that. Here are the reasons why.

First, American ideals are based off the Social Contract. This theory created by Thomas Hobbs and John Lock basically says I limit my rights for the betterment of humanity. I give up my right to kill you so you can't kill me. etc.

Second, imagine an Iraqi battlefield. Multiply it by ten, cover America in it, and have small nomadic tribes running around killing each other. That's what it would be like if we had all of our rights. Not a fun place top live.

Third, people enjoy power as well as direction. If there is no leader that tells you what to do many people wouldn't know what to do. Others wouldn't know what to do because it's impossible to become powerful. People are sheep and want to stay that way.

Quite frankly though. We live in the freest society on the planet. No one has more rights than we do.

Would you rather have no rules?

Would you feel safe driving on highways where people go anywhere from 65-140 mph?
Why do people under 18 need to be out after 11pm unless they work? Fix that by being at someone's house or otherwise, where you can do more things that are illegal to do in public.
Would you like more people to house unimaginable numbers of pets in their home, just so that the police can come in and remove horribly ill and diseased animals?

Oh wait, no rules, no cops. Then you might think about getting your own gun.

We have these rules because there are bad people out there who would use their freedom to hurt others, and do illogical things.
Rules bring chaos to order, and I don't know about you, but I prefer order way more.

Where do YOU live? For the first few, it probably depends on community regulations just to keep it under "control". As for the guns, how is that encroaching on anyone's rights? Just be happy the left-wing still let's us HAVE guns.

But probably all these laws came to be because irresponsible idiots got into major trouble and blamed our legal system for their mistakes, so the Law had to protect itself.

Omra Guy: You've got it backwards. Not only does PC infringe on Freedom of Speech, but it couldn't be more blatantly racist if someone smacked you upside the head with it.

In democracy it doesn't mean your free to do everything. Remember that freedom has its own limitatios. Laws are enacted and legislated in order to regulate the action of individuals not to stop you from exercising your freedom or right but to prevent you from violating the rights and freedom of another person. Jean-Jacques Rousseau: Man is born free but everywhere he is in chain.

Hence you can exercise your freedom to drive as fast as you can but in order to protect other drivers, commuters, by-standers and even your self it is imperative to regulate your freedom for a possible danger or cause harm to others.

Animals natural habitat is in the jungle or forest and not in urbanize cities but with the existing problems such as abuse on animals or perhaps to prevent harm to neighbors this must be regulated. The fee actually represents a regulator and by paying such charge it will definitely prevent you or partially deprive you of having too many animals in your home.

I hope you've watch spider man, there was a line there that (in essence) "great power comes great responsibilities". Be responsible and sensitive with these rules or end up in a MOB Rule.

Too much FREEDOM will lead to a MOB Rule. I am telling you its better to be disciplined rather than make an exections or excuse. In Philippines too much freedom and now we live in hell with those MOBS that controls the government.

Why can't people in the military have sex in any other position than missionary? All of the laws that are active right now, aren't all appropriate for the time we live in. If there are laws that you disagree with you should start a petition, and do something to change it, instead of asking questions on YA.
And if you paid to be in a certain neighborhood, you also are let known the rules of that community BEFORE you signed on the dotted line.

usa is often loose. I rigidity often, properly possibly it is going to be incredibly, whether it actually isn't unquestionably loose. there's a non secular dominance, yet that comes from the concepts on which the rustic become based. Christianity led the way, and it nonetheless dominates in the present day by using fact (a million) maximum human beings of the inhabitants falls interior that faith and (2) custom. i think of usa is attempting to be extra loose regarding race, yet this takes time. it is not in basic terms the government it is the contributors of society who proceed to make race a controversy. And sexuality, is turning out to be much less loose. The gay-marriage debate actually does not make you think of of "land of the loose", does it? this is ridiculous, yet by using fact it incredibly is a extra cutting-element situation/situation, then i'm confident that in basic terms as with race/segregation, it is going to take it slow to mellow out. I agree that some freedoms are not available, yet for the main area we appreciate multitudes of freedom that different countries do no longer.

America is only as free as it's government will allow it's citizens to be As for our legal system 2 rules apply there is one set of rules for those in power and another for the rest of us and the more money you have the more justice you are able to buy.

my teacher explained this....

in the dec. of independence, they said everyone had a rite to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness- as long as your happiness did not involve making others unhappy or hurt them. I no its a little unfair, but its for the best interests of EVERYONE. so... u have to think about the community too.
